Strutting Fearlessly Into the New Year

Today I want to delve head-first into one of my favorite topics, something I often think about but have yet to address on the blog: fear. But before I jump into that scary stuff (see what I did there?), I want to mention how perfect this outfit would be for New Year’s Eve. As I’ve mentioned in the past, I never really have an appropriate venue to wear an all-out sequin dress with severe makeup and an edgy hairstyle; usually, my NYE consists of having an awesome movie marathon with my family and popping those Martinelli’s bottles at midnight. Cozy and casual, but not without its sparkles. My Complicated Relationship with Hand-Me-Downs

Let’s talk about hand-me-downs…Do you have older siblings? Or older friends that used to give you their used clothes? I have two older brothers, and growing up, it seemed like I never got any girl clothing items of my own. Instead, I always received “gifts” that consisted of old gross boy items. Obviously I did have some girl clothes, but it sure didn’t feel like it…and I loved being dramatic about how much I hated hand-me-downs. Sound familiar? Let’s Celebrate Moms

You guys! Did you know that Mother’s Day is this Sunday? While I love the holiday and celebrating my much-deserving mom, I hate the timing of it. May is the busiest time of year for me (and probably most students) so I always feel like the holiday sneaks up before I can think of a great gift. Which is so unfair to all the mothers out there! That’s why giving an experience can sometimes be the best gift of all—you can think of it last minute without having to buy anything, and you get to make an awesome memory with your mother.
