The Long and Short of It

I’m obsessed with today’s spring outfit! I’m a little late posting this month, but yesterday marked another Thrifty Six collaboration with five of my blogging friends to showcase our secondhand style. May’s theme was The Long and Short of It. As my dad will happily tell you, I’m famously bad at knowing euphemisms… so I wasn’t exactly sure what this saying meant at first. According to Merriam-Webster, the phrase is “used when making a statement that is brief and that tells someone only the most important parts of something.” So basically the same thing as “long story short,” I think. Recap of the Denver Mini Derby

It’s been such a busy week at work that I’m only sitting down to write this post now! Last Saturday, my aunt and I attended the Denver Mini Derby, which is a Kentucky Derby viewing party with a twist—they race corgis and miniature horses (!!!). The event benefits Next Step Horse Rescue, a non-profit based in Colorado Springs that helps retrain and rehabilitate horses from across the country that have been abused and neglected. All-in-all, the Denver Mini Derby was such a fun way to celebrate Derby Day, and I just had to share more pics in a blog post for those of you who don’t follow me on Instagram (check out my live coverage of the event here!). A Little Prep in My Step

I’m so excited to share today’s outfit! I’ve been imagining this white collared shirt layered under the floral dress for a while now, but I wasn’t sure how the combination would look in person… It happens more often than you’d think that I have an idea for an outfit, finally try it on, and am disappointed by the results.
