About Me
Hello! Welcome to my blog, Graceful Rags. My name is Grace, and I’m so happy you stumbled onto this lil’ website!
I started Graceful Rags in 2016, the summer between my sophomore and junior years of high school. An avid lover of fashion, I used to come home from school every day and immediately start reading my favorite fashion bloggers’ latest posts while eating a snack at the kitchen table. I finally thought, Heck, I should blog too! While I loved seeing these influencers rock tulle skirts and neon heels, both of which were oh-so-trendy at the time, I quickly realized that those outfits were not realistic for my own life (nor could I afford the items they posted!). I decided to start Graceful Rags to share the kind of inspiration I was looking for in fashion bloggers at the time—affordable styles that were also practical to wear daily, not just for the styling purposes of pretty photos on a website.
Since then, Graceful Rags has grown to also showcase my passion for rewearing pieces. While I would describe my style as very eclectic (I like to dabble in everything from old fashioned items to edgy looks to boho pieces), one thing has always remained the same—I find restyling my clothing to be very important. As glamorous and dreamy as it would be to constantly receive new clothes, that is not the reality for most women outside of the influencing and blogging industries. We rewear clothes! Over and over again! Yes, people will see us wear the same outfit multiple times, and yes, that means we aren’t always the trendiest. But that doesn’t mean we can’t still be stylish.
I try to be very thoughtful about my fashion and purchases, which is why at the bottom of every post, I always list where I bought each item and how much it cost, as well as provide a link to the last place I wore it on the blog. It’s important to me to be transparent with you about where and what I spend on my clothes. And since I’m all about the rewears, those links I provide allow you to click through all the blog posts that feature a particular item, so you know exactly how I’ve styled it in the past and can get inspiration for how to rework your own pieces.
Okay, enough about my fashion philosophies and a little bit more about me. I’m currently a senior at the University of Denver double majoring in Criminology and Geography, with minors in Entrepreneurship and Psychology. Can you tell my interests are as eclectic as my style?? When I’m not studying or blogging, I love to doodle in my planner, explore the great outdoors, cross items off my color-coded lists, and get lost in my daydreams.
