It amazes me how rarely fashion bloggers talk about doing laundry. It may not be a very glamorous task, but after all, it is one of the most important aspects of clothing! And it’s something I consider a lot when shopping for new pieces—How is this garment washed? Does it have to be dry cleaned? If the answer to the latter question is yes, I almost always leave the piece behind, both because of the hassle of dry cleaning and the increased cost per wear. My point is, the laundering process matters, and how you’re washing your clothes can make a big difference in their longevity. A Few Simple Tips to Make Your Wardrobe More Sustainable

In celebration of Earth Day today, I wanted to share a blog post centered on sustainability in fashion. I imagined this post featuring photos taken in the beautiful Rocky Mountains to celebrate the wonder and awe of Mother Nature, but of course, the rainy and snowy weather of the past few weeks had different plans for me. I do have to admit, though, that I am a little apprehensive to publish this blog post… Why? Because talking about sustainability in fashion seems like an oxymoron. After all, we all know that the fashion industry is a major polluter to the environment and a huge emitter of greenhouse gases. Fashion blogging itself, something that I am so passionate about, is often inherently contradictory to the goals of sustainability and ‘green living’. So as fashion lovers, how can we reconcile this? Wearing Your Scarf as a Skirt?

It’s time for the first Magnificent 8 collaboration of the new year and we’re getting a little creative this time around. Rather than a color or specific type of clothing, this quarter’s theme is ‘wearing something in an unconventional way,’ which is SUCH a fun idea! Usually I would associate this kind of out-of-the-box outfit creation with the summer months (for example, last summer I styled a skirt as a top and it was a huge hit), but I had a more difficult time thinking of creative winter-appropriate outfits.
