This was an extremely uneventful week, but after the hecticness of last week, it was kind of a much needed break! I like doing these weekly recap posts because they hold me accountable and force me to make my life more ‘interesting’ so as to avoid just talking about school constantly. But this week, that’s really all I got for ya’! I also realized after compiling my OOTD photos that I wore the same black leather jacket three out of the four times I got dressed this week… So, if you’re in need of leather jacket outfit ideas, today’s post is definitely for you! Oh, and did I mention it decided to snow again this week? Of course, I sent most of my sweaters home over spring break, so it has been a very chilly week indeed…

Monday, April 12

I didn’t put on real clothes today and went to class in a sweatshirt and running shorts for the first time EVER (gasp). Once I finished school at 2, I spent a couple of hours publishing today’s blog post and then working for my research position.

Aside from sweaters, I only own probably four or five long-sleeve tops, excluding button-downs (which we all know are historically not comfy nor warm). So in an attempt to stay cozy today, I wore this long sleeve blush tee underneath my leather jacket with booties and tuxedo stripe jeans. A cute yet simple look. It was just another day spent going to class and doing homework, and then I had my usual Tuesday night dinner with my boyfriend. I didn’t set an alarm once during this week, and boy, was it nice to sleep in!! This is the first time ever that I have not had an 8 am class, and I’m starting to understand why most people avoid them at all costs…

This outfit was entirely inappropriate given the chilly weather, but I really wanted to photograph it for Thursday’s blog post and suffered the cold to do just that. I can’t wait to wear this outfit again once it warms up a bit! As for activities, I had two classes today and a work meeting before taking these pics and spending the rest of the night doing homework.

I spent the morning finishing today’s blog post and some homework before heading to class. I had every intention of taking blog photos after my Forensic Psychology course, but that class is in a lecture hall with no windows… and when I finally got outside, I found out it was snowing! And very cold! Ugh. Now that we were teased with spring weather a few weeks ago, I’m definitely ready for this pesky snow to be gone… For today’s outfit I just layered my leather jacket over this thin floral tee with the same black booties as Tuesday. And, since my hair should’ve been washed, I tied this hair scarf like a headband to distract from the greasiness.

How stinking cool do I look in this outfit?! I feel like I just walked out of Pinterest. I mentioned how I had this outfit idea a few weeks ago in this blog post about houndstooth pants, but I only just got around to trying it. Sometimes, my ideas for outfits turn out really ugly once I try them on. In fact, I might argue that this happens the majority of the time. But today? I thought this outfit was a real winner, and I would totally wear it again in the future!

I didn’t have my usual lab today, but I really needed to take some blog photos for Monday’s collaboration post. Thankfully, I managed to convince my boyfriend to snap a few pics of me while it was snowing in the 28 degree weather… what a champ. We then got boba and watched an episode of “The Crown” before I got started on homework/chores for the day. I ended up photographing today’s outfit as well in the afternoon! For dinner, I made myself a small charcuterie board with the leftovers from last weekend’s party (okay, fine, you caught me… it was a very large charcuterie board). I then curled up in bed to watch a movie, do a facemask, and paint my nails. Boy was it relaxing! And I think the peel-off facemask achieved the dual purpose of waxing my face, so that’s always a pleasant surprise.

Pink Sweater: JCPenney, $18, last worn here | Black Leather Jacket: Gracie’s Boutique, $25, last worn here | Houndstooth Pants: JCPenney, $19, last worn here | Blush Sneakers: Steve Madden via DSW, $60, last worn here | Grey Beanie: National Geographic x Love Your Melon, gift, buy HERE

. . . . .

Today, I have my second and final Saturday class of the quarter. I decided to stack them on back-to-back Saturdays this time, and while it stinks to have that much weekend taken up twice in a row, it will be so nice to get these classes out of the way early in the quarter. Today’s topic is market discovery and product fit! I wanted to do something fun tomorrow, but given the crappy weather, I’ll probably end up lounging inside being lazy. Sometimes that’s the best kind of fun.

Do you have any weekend plans? And what’s the most exciting thing that happened to you this week? Let me know in the comments below, as well as which of this week’s outfits was your favorite. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Miles of smiles,
Grace

  1. I like your “Pinterest” outfit – the trousers are cool! The shoes look a little dirty here – maybe it’s the contrast with the brighter pink of the sweater? Lucky you, sleeping in! what a luxury that is!

My weekend will involve some disc-throwing and a Zoom call, plus board games. Woot! Happy weekend, Grace!

    1. Sounds like a fun time! And my shoes are dirty… They’re a weird textured fabric and so hard to clean! I’ve tried everything.

  2. I was watching the news the other day and apparently this is the snowiest season in years in Denver. Love your outfits, Grace! Thanks for sharing and have a good day. Aiva 🙂 xxx

    1. Oh, I haven’t heard that! But I believe it. I’m planning for one of our notorious May snowstorms… Haha!

  3. How crazy you have snow halfway through spring! it does look so nice and pretty on the ground though 🙂 It’s good you were able to sleep in and not set your alarm too – whenever I do manage to align things and try that my kids always wake up before when my alarm would go off anyway, haha!

These are great outfits, hope the leather jacket kept you cosy!

Hope that you had a great weekend!

    1. Thanks Mica! And I know, isn’t it crazy? We usually get a snowstorm in May, too… Not looking forward to that, haha!

  4. Great recap! And I agree doing these probably keep you accountable on what you do with your time but given you have lots on your hand, it makes sense that you would like to slow down. Perhaps not by choice but still a welcome right? I love you easy to wear outfits. You look very cute and my favorites are Monday’s and Wednesday’s. I hope you got through your exams yesterday. I don’t miss that part about school! Lol But then again, I am experiencing it kind of with my son and distant learning. Seriously his school is trying to kill us. The amount of work is unbelievable. I was thinking of doing a binder update on IG and I just might! Lol

    1. Thanks so much Maureen! Ugh, that stinks your son’s school is such busy work! Seems super unnecessary…
