Happy Saturday! I was up and at ‘em nice and early this morning because I actually have class from 8:30 to around 4:30 tonight… on a Saturday. Rough, I know (I’m on my lunch break now). But it’s a one day, one credit class for my entrepreneurship minor, and today’s course is all about emotional intelligence. I’m super excited to learn more about EQ and how to improve my own score! Now, onto this week’s outfits.

Today I was honored to be invited to a meeting about planning a very special school event sometime in the future (which meant rocking a good outfit for Zoom, i.e. a pretty magenta headband, necklace, and pearl earrings). I then had my regular Zoom class, met a friend for a picnic lunch, and spent the afternoon procrastinating writing a paper… I was inspired to wear white jeans today, but I’m not sure if I loved this outfit. The white shoes and pants together seem like too much. What do you think?

It was a pretty busy day today! I had my regular two classes in the morning, then I met with my advisor/boss to discuss some stuff about my job and my future as a student (gotta get on that thesis pretty soon here!). After that, I had another meeting with the professor of today’s EQ class to discuss my test results. For those of you who don’t know, EQ is sorta like IQ in that you take a test and the average score is around 100, but unlike IQ, EQ is a skill you can improve and develop over time. Interesting stuff!

I just had lab today and spent the rest of the day working and writing essays. School is definitely getting very busy, and I didn’t really have a chance to do anything fun until the end of the week! You may recall that these pants are “the coolest pants ever”, and I actually styled a very similar look for a guest post for Jill from Doused in Pink, which you can check out here.

Today was just a lil’ bit stressful because I had two essays due at midnight (which I had started before today, I just wasn’t done yet). So I went to my regular classes in the morning, worked on my papers in the afternoon, made a quick stop at the grocery store, and had a Zoom meeting for the research journal of which I am apart. I made root beer floats for a friend and myself as we chatted in the apartment complex’s hot-tub, and then I ended the night by finishing my papers! Turned the second one in with about 45 minutes to spare (I know I shouldn’t be proud of that, ha).

After such a busy week, I was finally able to relax a little! I slept in and spent the morning being lazy in bed. Then I finally got up to start getting some work done, and I went to the grocery store in the afternoon. I also stopped by Nothing Bundt Cakes because they were having a BOGO on their personal sized “bundlets”! So good! And they make a gluten-free cake, in case anyone is wondering (that’s what I have to get, unfortunately). After getting back from the store, I went for a walk around the neighborhood, and it was so exciting to finally see all the beautiful fall colors on the trees. I love this time of year! But while it looked like fall, it was still 85 degrees, hence today’s more summery outfit.

And here’s today’s look! Just keeping it comfy and casual for class. I wish I had more interesting things to talk about than just school and work all the time, but alas. Usually the “fun” stuff I do is on the weekend, but this year I haven’t done anything too exciting because, you know, the whole pandemic thing.

General Thoughts About My First Capsule Wardrobe

I feel like my outfits were pretty “bleh” this week. You know when you’re just not feeling it? I keep seeing all these cute fall looks on other bloggers and on Pinterest that I would love to recreate, but I just don’t have the right clothes here at school to do so. This week of capsule outfits really reminded me how much joy I get from clothes and from getting dressed each morning, and I need to pick out cuter outfits next week in order to experience more of that joy!

Anyway, thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you have a great rest of your weekend. Be sure to let me know which is your favorite outfit in the comments below!

Miles of smiles,

Grace
