I’ve been having a harder and harder time waking up as it’s gotten darker in the mornings, and my walks into work have become quite chilly… You can definitely tell that the first day of all is this week! I can’t wait for the new season and all the fun autumn activities. It’s still been in the 80s most days in Denver, but the high for this Wednesday is only supposed to be 62 degrees. Thanks to a freezing office, though, I already broke out a handful of sweaters this past week!

Monday, September 12

I’ve found that I tend to wear dresses on Mondays because they’re easy and I’m too lazy to put together anything else. I love this tweed number and decided to dress it up with vintage collar clips, as well as my oxblood thrifted Mary Janes. So preppy!

Tweed Dress: Maison Jules via Macy’s, $30 ($3.33 per wear), last worn here | Oxblood Mary Jane Shoes: Thrifted, $10 ($5.00 per wear)

I’m a little on the fence about this outfit, thrown off by the cute yellow heels… I thought they would elevate the look for work (especially since I’m wearing jeans), but I think the shoes feel a little too fancy for the rest of the outfit. I don’t know, it just needs something… I think if I swapped the jeans for a navy skirt, the heels would be much more fitting. What do you think?

Striped Sweater: Banana Republic, $50 ($5.00 per wear), last worn here | Cropped Flared Jeans: Express, $25 ($1.39 per wear), last worn here | Yellow Heels: DSW, $45 ($45 per wear), last worn here

Wednesday, September 14

After a rather long day at work, my boyfriend came over for dinner and to watch more “Yellowstone”, which has become very bingeable as of late (we’re on Season 2). This is an outfit I’ve worn several times before and love, but this photo isn’t doing it any justice. I decided to channel Tinker Bell by adding black pom pom shoe clips to my blue flats for a little something extra. (I’m now realizing the shoe clips would make a fun addition to the yellow heels from Tuesday’s look!)

Black Ribbed Sweater: 525 America via Scout and Molly’s Boutique, $89 ($6.85 per wear), last worn here | Houndstooth Pants: JCPenney, $19 ($1.12 per wear), last worn here | Blue Flats: DSW, $5 ($0.22 per wear), last worn here

It’s been a pain in the booty to find parking at work this week, so I opted to work from home today to avoid the frustration altogether—hence the comfy and casual look. I took some blog photos after work and then swung over to my boyfriend’s apartment to watch the football game (I’m slowly getting into the sport).

White Crop Top: American Eagle, $8 ($2.00 per wear) | Camo Button-Down: Hand-me-down, last worn here | Skinny Jeans: Express, $42 ($0.95 per wear), last worn here | Blush Sneakers: Steve Madden via DSW, $60 ($0.53 per wear), last worn here

Friday, September 16

I just threw on the same outfit as yesterday and had a very productive day at work, followed by a relaxing evening in the bathtub with my book and a homemade Oreo milkshake (can you imagine a better Friday night after a rough week? I can’t).

Saturday, September 17

My boyfriend and I went to one of his friend’s weddings in Golden today. It started at 2 pm, so we got all dolled up in the morning—a bit of a funny feeling. I did a pretty rose gold makeup look with matching jewelry and shoes. This dark red fringe dress is possibly my favorite clothing item, so I was beyond excited to have another excuse to wear it! We danced the night away, and the fringe was perfect for our swing moves—I scored so many compliments.

Fringe Dress: White House Black Market, $100 ($20.00 per wear), last worn here | Rose Gold Heels: Macy’s, $21 ($2.10 per wear), last worn here | Blush Purse: Target, $30 ($4.29 per wear), last worn here

Sunday, September 18

We had a lazy day in Golden this morning, getting our first fall-flavored drinks from Starbucks and going for a walk along Clear Creek (I was grubbin’ it in a tee and athletic shorts, hence the lack of outfit photo). I needed a nap in the afternoon, but we spent the rest of the day lounging poolside with our books—it was the perfect temperature and probably one of, if not the last, pool days of the year.

How was your weekend? Are you excited for the start of fall or still holding onto summer? I especially love writing my weekly recaps (and updating my cost per wear spreadsheet) during this time of year—when I start breaking out my sweaters and boots again—because it’s fun to see how long since I last wore an item. I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t broken out the black ribbed sweater from Wednesday’s outfit since 2020! Anyway, hope you have a great start to the new week.

Miles of smiles,
Grace
