I’ve had such a productive weekend! Boy, when was the last time I said that? As you know if you read all my weekly recaps, I’ve really been struggling with time management lately and have felt so behind in every aspect of my life. I finally put my head down and cranked out a lot of to-do list items this weekend, and it felt so good. I still have a lot of catching up to do, but I’m hopeful (probably too much so) that I can spend this next week finally getting on top of my to-do lists again—just in time to start reassessing my goals and getting into better habits as we enter the new year!

I started the week still in Boise visiting my family, but since I had to work today, I didn’t get much “visiting” in. We ate dinner out before my parents took my boyfriend and me to the quaint little airport. Oh, how I miss Boise’s airport.

I decided to work from home since we didn’t get back until late last night. I had big plans to be productive today, but a work issue came up that took up my entire afternoon—so frustrating! I didn’t change out of workout clothes, but I did swing by the pottery painting place I visited with my friends a few weeks back to pick up my piece. The little gnome couple turned out so cute! I was originally going to give it to my mom since she likes gnomes, but I don’t know now… I might just keep it for myself.

It was a busy day at work followed by my next round of laser hair removal. Up until now, the treatments hadn’t been very painful, but today’s hurt SO BADLY. I’m not sure if something was wrong with the machine or what, but I was not having a good time. For my next round I plan to take Ibuprofen before my appointment to help with the pain (which is a trick I always used to do when I got waxed).

Later in the evening, my boyfriend, a friend, and I went back to our old trivia place. If you’ve been following along, we’ve been testing out two trivia bars and making pro-con lists, trying to decide which one we want to be our regular spot. Tonight we decided to revisit our original location, which has much harder questions. We were in dead-last the entire time, but during the final question—where you have the opportunity to wager up to 15 points—we bet it all and won first place!!! We were the only team who got the final question right! It was the comeback of the century! I can’t tell you how I excited I was to win after being last the whole night. (And we won on a geography question, no less—finally my degree came in handy.) Obviously, the team now feels compelled to choose this location as our go-to trivia spot.

Remember when blanket scarves were a thing? I still think today’s outfit is really cute, even if it dates my style. I was so tired after work but still wanted to be productive, so I went down a rabbit hole of cleaning out the photos on my phone. I’m really bad at deleting pics as I go and—I know this will come as a surprise—I take a million photos. So you can imagine what a daunting task this was. I didn’t finish, but I did clean out all of my 2023 photos, which felt like a huge accomplishment.

Friday, December 1

My boyfriend and I had such a fun date night in downtown Denver. We rarely go downtown, but my brother and sister-in-law “sponsored” a night at Upstairs Circus for my birthday, which is a sip-and-paint type bar where you can craft and drink at the same time (check out my Reel here). I decided to make a leather-covered flask and my boyfriend made a wall-mounted bottle opener. It was really fun! We grabbed sushi afterwards and finished the night with a movie. Such a festive way to kick off the holiday season.

I didn’t get dressed today and just worked worked worked. Are you the type of person who works from your bed? I know you’re really not supposed to do it, but I find myself writing blog posts in bed a lot…

Sunday, December 3

I started my Sunday by trying the viral TikTok workout 12-3-30 (walking on a treadmill at 3 miles per hour for 30 minutes at 12% incline). While it was harder than I thought it would be, I was so incredibly bored, so I don’t think I’ll be making it a regular thing. Otherwise, I spent most of the day party planning for my aunt’s 50th that I’m throwing next weekend. I can’t believe it’s already one week out—so much to do!

In the evening, my friend and I met online to take personality quizzes together—both silly ones like Buzzfeed (yes, I would cover my body in egg custard if my friend asked me to for her birthday) and serious ones like the Meyers Briggs (I’m an INTJ, an Architect). It was really fun to discuss our answers and try to guess each other’s. Such a good idea for a girls night!

Miles of smiles,

  1. Your gnome couple is so cute! I still love a good blanket scarf; they are so warm… which is perfect this time of year.
