Got up to lots of birthday shenanigans this past week and am definitely feeling the love! My parents came to town to celebrate 24 with me, and I took Thursday and Friday off work to really soak it up. It felt like the longest weekend in the best way possible—I’m not ready to head back to reality but am grateful that the next holiday is only 10 days away.

My parents got to town tonight, so my boyfriend and I met up with them at my aunt’s house for takeout. I wasn’t expecting them until Wednesday so it was a fun surprise to see them even sooner.

I had a busy and stressful day at work trying to wrap up a bunch of tasks before taking the rest of the week off. In the evening, my parents and aunt joined my boyfriend and me for our usual Wednesday night trivia. It seemed like it was extra hard tonight because we did not do well!

Thursday, November 9
My 24th birthday!! My boyfriend, parents, and I started the day with brunch at Snooze, followed by a little shopping at the Denver Premium Outlets mall (I got two new sweaters from Banana Republic and lots of gift ideas for my boyfriend). In the afternoon, we did a haunted mine-themed escape room at HD Escape Rooms. I haven’t done one in years and have been wanting to try again. This is the first time I’ve actually escaped one—and with 15 minutes to spare.
We had a casual birthday dinner out with my aunt’s family and my adult cousin before heading back to my aunt’s house for banana splits and presents. Such a fun birthday! But also always a little sad when it’s over…
Oh, and the ‘fit. Usually I have a b-day look planned weeks in advance, but I kind of threw this one together. It was risky wearing a new-to-me outfit on my birthday, given that the day will forever be memorialized in photos, but I felt SO stinking cute in this (even though it doesn’t look like much in this mirror pic).

Friday, November 10
My boyfriend and I met up with my parents and spent the majority of the day at the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum in town. I’ve been wanting to go for years and finally made it over there! My mom and I did a flight simulator together, which was a blast but also a little scary—we couldn’t stop giggling.
In the evening, my parents came over to my apartment for pizza and a night of games before saying goodbye. I’m sad they had to leave before the weekend was up but am grateful to have seen them at all. Less than two weeks until I’ll be back in Boise for the first time in almost a year!

It was a rather slow Saturday before my boyfriend and I met up with a group of friends to do karaoke for my birthday. I’ve worn this thrifted red crop top on the stage a few times and it never disappoints.

Sunday, November 12
I had a lazy morning around the apartment, recovering, before meeting up with my girlfriends at a paint-your-own-pottery place in the afternoon. I used to go to those painting places all the time when I was younger, especially for my birthday, but I haven’t been in years! It was really fun (though I do have to return to finish my piece—I ran out of time).
This graphic tee was my souvenir from Philadelphia. It says “Love” (City of Brotherly Love and all that) but the letters are a map of the city, and the “O” is the Liberty Bell. So cute! I paired it with this real leather jacket that I won in an Instagram giveaway a few years ago.

Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? I lucked out big time with the weather this weekend, with it being in the mid-60s every day. A big improvement to the snowy Colorado birthdays I’ve had in the past.
