Hey guys! I definitely forgot today was Monday so that’s why this post is going up so late…haha. I hope you all had a great weekend! I spent it with my whole family and got to ride a horse, so that was pretty awesome.

I wore this outfit a few weeks ago to school on an overcast day. I was really pleased with how it turned out—it’s the perfect mix of casual and stylish. I could see it worn on the weekend or to a movie.

One of my style New Year’s resolutions was to experiment more with belts, and this is actually the first time I followed through on that. I hardly ever wear belts on my natural waist unless they’re over a dress. I think it looks cute on other people, but I always feel silly when I try it myself. I’d say this attempt was a success though! The pink belt is actually pretty hard to see because I layered an orange cami under the sheer blouse, but I knew it was there. 😉

I think the trick to wearing belts with shirts is to make sure the shirt covers the top of your pants. If the belt loops on your pants or shorts are showing, then it’s kind of weird to have a belt higher up. It also helps to have a shirt that already has some sort of detail at your natural waist, like the cinching on this shirt or peplum tops. Do you ever wear belts over shirts? I’d love to know your tips!
