It feels so good to be home—and not planning on leaving again any time soon. As much as I love to travel, I do find it really exhausting and get to a point where I just want to be in my own space, without having to live out of a suitcase and with all the full-size toiletries my heart desires. I follow a handful of full-time travel bloggers, and while it would be an absolute dream to travel the world as a job, I’m not sure I could do it! Going on a several weeks-long trip just to come home for a day to do laundry and repack for the next trip would burn me out.

Whenever I’m in Las Vegas, I get up at 4 am to go into the office with my grandpa. He’s still working hard at 91 years old! Usually the 4 am wakeup call is pretty rough but I was shockingly not very tired this week. It’s amazing how much you can get done when you get up so early—I feel like I’ve accomplished an entire day’s work by 9 am!

It’s really hard to get dressed when it’s so early and still pitch-black outside, but I packed nice work outfits and didn’t have much choice in anything else. I’ve never worn this hot pink blazer with this floral dress, but I think I like how it turned out—it’s kind of a slant rhyme, the colors don’t match but don’t necessarily clash either…

Another dress I’ve never paired with this blazer before, but the brown chevron pattern does have hot pink in it. I think the combo works but I’m also not over-the-moon about it—the outfit could benefit from different shoes, maybe my beige flats instead.

Brown Chevron Dress: Charming Charlie, $40 ($1.48 per wear), last worn here | Pink Blazer: JCPenney, $35 ($2.69 per wear), last worn here | Black Flats: Rothy’s, $100 ($10.00 per wear)

I intended on wearing this top and these jeans with the hot pink blazer, but with the 4 am wakeup I just wasn’t in the mood to wear the blazer again. I threw on this cozy cardigan instead, which if I had had my full closet to choose from, I never would have paired with this blouse—it doesn’t work well with the ruffles.

Floral Ruffle Blouse: Kohl’s, $20 ($2.50 per wear), last worn here | Grey Cardigan: Nordstrom Rack, $10 ($0.43 per wear), last worn here | Dark Wash Jeans: Express, $25 ($0.58 per wear), last worn here | Black Flats: Rothy’s, $100 ($9.09 per wear)

I had planned on wearing this outfit on Saturday since it’s more of a weekend look, but I was sick of the work outfits I packed and just wanted something simple. I’ve worn this exact look so many times over the years—super easy but still a “complete” outfit. I kind of wish we had planned something fun to do on Leap Day but I didn’t think ahead at all! I kind of forgot about the “holiday” until it was already here. I did finish the 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle I had been working on all week, though, so that was exciting (especially because my grandpa didn’t think I’d be able to finish before I left).

Heart Print Dress: Hand-me-down, last worn here | Jean Jacket: JCPenney, $19 ($0.10 per wear), last worn here | White Espadrilles: DSW, $45 ($0.46 per wear), last worn here

I love this mock-neck/pant combo and knew it would travel really well since these Clara Sunwoo pants are made of a wrinkle-free fabric. I threw on my long grey cardigan for a very comfy, borderline pajamas, outfit.

I was supposed to fly back to Denver today at 4 pm but my flight was entirely cancelled due to extreme winds. They rebooked me on the next flight, so I wouldn’t have landed until 9 pm, but after a lot of deliberation I decided to reschedule to Sunday morning instead. That ended up being the right decision because the flight I would have taken ended up being delayed 2.5 hours, so I would have landed really late (and it certainly would have been a very bumpy ride).

I was disappointed at first because I was really ready to be home (and wanted all of Sunday to unpack/refresh before the week), but my mom and I made lemonade by going to some of our favorite thrift stores instead. I walked away with a really pretty dress, which was kind of pricey for secondhand, but my mom convinced me to get it anyways. I’m thinking about wearing it to Easter brunch! You can check out my thrifted finds in this Reel, which is going viral (more than 50,000 views!!!).

Sunday, March 3

My flight left at 6:45 this morning so I made it back to Denver by 9:30. My boyfriend picked me up from the airport and then we went to brunch at Snooze, our favorite spot which we haven’t been to in a long time. I wanted to be productive today, but the week of 4 am wake-up calls finally caught up to me… I went down for a nap and ended up spending most of the afternoon dozing in and out of conscientious.

I wore the same outfit today as yesterday, which was basically the same outfit as Friday just with different pants—of course the one time I tried really hard to pack light was the one time an extra outfit or two would have been handy.

Teal Mock-Neck Top: JCPenney, $11 ($0.52 per wear), last worn here | Grey Cardigan: Nordstrom Rack, $10 ($0.40 per wear), last worn here | Dark Wash Jeans: Express, $25 ($0.57 per wear), last worn here | Black Flats: Rothy’s, $100 ($7.69 per wear)

. . . . .

Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? I sure did get a lot of wear out of my Rothy’s! They had a really high cost per wear so I’m excited to finally get that down to something more reasonable.

Miles of smiles,

Grace
