It’s been a long day of travel, but it was well worth it considering I just got back from such a relaxing week in Las Vegas with my boyfriend’s family. The university that employs me decided to give us last Wednesday and Friday off, in addition to the expected Thursday, which was such a treat! It was my first holiday spent away from my own family, so I would be lying if I said I didn’t miss them a ton… But I enjoyed trying new Thanksgiving foods and traditions, as well as soaking up the much warmer desert weather. Weekly Recap #48, 2021

Just like that, I’ve said goodbye to Denver! I moved out of my senior year apartment on Monday and drove to Las Vegas to spend Thanksgiving with family. It feels so weird to be leaving the Mile High City and for the first time in three and a half years, not knowing if I’ll be coming back. I originally never planned to stay in Denver after graduation, but after missing out on nearly a year of college because of Covid, it feels like the Denver chapter of my life hasn’t closed quite yet. It’s been so nice to finally start my five week winter break, and I’m looking forward to quality family time, writing my thesis, and planning for my semester abroad—I bought my tickets to Scotland this morning! A White Thanksgiving?

Happy Thanksgiving! I thought we might have a white holiday this year, considering that it was snowing yesterday, but this morning I woke up to find only a frosty layer on the grass and a mysterious fog looming over the city.
