What a week it’s been, full of excitement, frustration, and lots of adjustments! Unfortunately, my tripod broke right before I left for Scotland (and it didn’t fit in my bag anyways) so I am currently tripod-less and photographer-less… which means no new outfit photos for the time being. But, thankfully, my dorm closet did come with a full-length mirror on the door, so I can still share my outfits of the day—even if the lighting/quality isn’t the best. I’m hoping to get the photo-taking situation figured out soon so that I can get back on my posting schedule! But until then, here are my outfits and all the fun exploring I’ve been up to in Glasgow for my first week here. Continue reading “Weekly Recap #1, 2022”

My First Impressions of Glasgow

Gosh, it feels like forever since I’ve thought about anything blog-related… it’s just been such an exciting and overwhelming week as I’ve tried to adjust to life across the pond! I arrived in Glasgow, Scotland, on January 5th to start my five-month-long study abroad experience at the University of Glasgow. I am beyond ecstatic to have finally made it here, as I’ve been trying to come to Scotland since pre-Covid (and have wanted to study abroad basically my whole life before that, not to be dramatic or anything). Traveling during a pandemic isn’t quite how I imagined the experience, but it’s safe to say that all the stress and worry I was feeling pre-departure has melted away now that I arrived. Everything is so exciting and new, so I wanted to share a few unedited pics of my first few days here! Continue reading “My First Impressions of Glasgow”

Let the study abroad content begin! I finished packing last night and managed to squeeze five months-worth of clothing into just a carry-on suitcase and my backpack. For those of you who don’t know, I will be studying abroad at the University of Glasgow in Scotland for the upcoming semester, from January to May. My long-time followers know what a saga it has been to get to this point… I originally started the study abroad process in 2019 and was supposed to go to Scotland in the fall of 2020. Obviously, Covid had different plans. A few re-applications and a whole lotta disappointment later, it looks like this dream will finally come true! I, of course, won’t fully believe it until I’m kissing the Scottish ground, but I otherwise have my plane tickets booked, housing contract signed, and bags packed. Glasgow, here I come!
