Why I’m Not a Trendy Shopper

As I was sitting down last night to start working on today’s blog post, I realized I’m wearing the same mom jeans in today’s outfit as I did in Monday’s post (whoops). Usually I try to space out sharing similar items on the blog so that it doesn’t seem like I’m wearing the same outfit over and over again. But then I realized, why shouldn’t I post these jeans back-to-back? In real life, I usually wear the same pair of jeans a couple of times in the same week before washing them, so it shouldn’t be any different on my blog (which is about, of course, affordable and ‘realistic’ fashion). Winterizing Your Summer Dresses

I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely dreaming of a white Christmas! I took these pictures back when it snowed the day before Thanksgiving, and today felt like a good time to finally share them (i.e. I didn’t get around to taking new photos and had to scramble through my stockpile to find something for today’s post). It worked out though because I realized I’ve been seriously lacking in holiday-themed outfits this year, and I figured wearing a bunch of red would fix that right up. How Fashion Changes in College

When I started college in the fall, I had every intention of maintaining my rather fancy everyday style. My high school’s dress code was a loose “business casual,” and as a result, I became accustomed to dressing nice each day (and actually really enjoyed it—gasp!). I’ve now made it into my second semester of college and have yet to attend classes in my sweatpants…so I guess I’m still doing okay with my goal. What I didn’t expect were some unintended consequences of life on a college campus that have affected how I choose to get dressed each morning. Sure, there’s the stereotype of students looking like slobs and never changing out of their sweats or leggings. But below I outline some rather unexpected, never-mentioned changes that have me itching to revamp my closet.
