How is it September already?! This year has been an absolute blur… It feels like just yesterday I was anxiously awaiting my Covid test results before moving to Scotland for the semester. And now, I feel like I’m finally starting to settle into a calmer pace of life—although I still haven’t quite figured out the whole work-life balance thing, as evidenced by the serious lack of blog posts in August. I stumbled across these old, unused blog photos when I was clearing off my old phone and figured they would be perfect for today’s post! This is a great transitional outfit for those late summer days when it’s still too hot for thicker fabrics. Back in the day, when I used to post “travel guides” after spring break trips and family vacations, I would always share a small section about the fashion I saw in whatever location I was visiting. Some places have a distinct style and way of dressing (for example, I would say my hometown Boise is very “outdoorsy”—lots of Patagonia, athletic skirts, etc.), whereas other spots don’t really have any sort of pattern or trends to notice regarding fashion. I apologize for missing Monday’s blog post! I always hate missing a post, but with Easter and traveling back to school, I was and still am very behind in photo taking (hence today’s recap-style post). I got these houndstooth trousers at the start of high school seven years ago to fit into my school’s dress code policy, since we weren’t allowed to wear blue jeans, and they have been one of my favorite pairs of pants ever since. As my peers and I start to add more professional pieces to our wardrobes, it’s important to remember that work style doesn’t have to mean drab or stuffy. Nor does it only have to be worn at work!
