Hi everyone!

I’m so excited about today’s post; I love this dress so much! I smile every time I put it on because it reminds me of a flapper girl, and I have a slight obsession with the Roaring Twenties… I actually have worn this dress twice as part of a flapper girl costume, but I’ll save those pictures for another day.

I wore this outfit to an anniversary party at a golf course. I don’t attend a whole lot of fancy events, so I was pretty excited that this party called for a dress and heels. I was running late, otherwise I probably would have done something cool to my hair.

I don’t know if my feet have gotten smaller since the last time I wore these heels or if my shoes just stretched out, but they definitely seemed way bigger than I remember. I have trouble walking in heels on a good day, so having my feet slip around in them did not help.

How gorgeous is this purse from Charming Charlie?! I feel like you can’t get more Roaring Twenties than that. I received it as a birthday gift last year, and while this exact purse is no longer available, there are plenty of other pretty evening bags from the RSVP Collection on their website. I’ve had my eye on this one for a while. The palm print is perfect for summer!

Does anyone have any fun plans for the weekend?

Complementary

Happy Hump Day!

Today I’m wearing complementary colors, something that I don’t usually do. Cobalt blue and bright orange kind of clash in my eyes, but I feel like the navy and burnt orange colors of this outfit actually work well together, especially since there is already orange and blue in the skirt.

I wore this outfit while in Iowa to explore the town and also at a family gathering. It’s great for those blistering summer days because it keeps me cool; I love wearing skirts and dresses when it’s hot and humid out.

I never thought I liked blue and orange together, but now that I think about it, I’ve been on somewhat of a blue and orange kick lately. Just check out my orange purse and navy combo here or my orange pants and turquoise jewelry from Monday’s post.

Polka Dot Paradise

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday!

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I love polka dots. What’s not to love? It’s such a fun and happy print.

I wore this outfit while on vacation in Iowa. It looks like a romper, but it’s actually two pieces. I wore it for a day of exploring the town and out to dinner at a restaurant on the Mississippi River.

I actually got the shorts and blouse at Kohl’s from Lauren Conrad’s Disney Collection last summer. I don’t shop at Kohl’s very often, but sometimes I make a quick pass through the store. The blouse and shorts had cost more than what I would usually spend, but they were just too cute to resist. The details on the outfit are so adorable, from the scalloped collar to the bow on the shorts. The set also came in red and white, but I decided that combo was too “Minnie Mouse” for me.
