If you read my weekly recaps, you’ll know I attended the Bridgerton Ball with my aunt a couple of weeks ago for my birthday! It was such a fun event, and it felt like we were transported right into the set of the popular Netflix show. If you haven’t heard about this experience (I found out about it on Instagram—gotta love those targeted ads), it is put on in collaboration with Shondaland, a production company; Fever, an events company; and of course, Netflix. I didn’t really know what to expect, but it turned out to be such a special night full of dancing, photo-ops, and a performance, and I would definitely recommend it—truly a marvelous evening with the ton! *Cues my best Lady Whistledown voice.* Continue reading “What to Wear to the Bridgerton Ball”

A few weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to attend a Dior Exhibit currently on display at the Denver Art Museum. As the museum’s website describes, Dior: From Paris to the World showcases 70 years of the Dior fashion house, providing the history behind its founder Christian Dior and his successors, displaying more than 200 couture dresses (as well as photographs, sketches, videos, and accessories), and explaining the muses behind each collection. I don’t follow designers very closely and didn’t know what to expect from this exhibit. However, I knew I would love it either way because it was fashion and dresses and all things pretty. Well let me just tell you…Touring this collection completely blew me out of the water! Seeing these gorgeous haute couture dresses in real life made *almost* all my fashion dreams come true. (The last one would be, of course, actually wearing one of these dresses.) Continue reading “Dior Exhibit: From Paris to the World”
Okay so I didn’t get invited to the Academy Awards this year…But it’s fine, it’s whatever. There’s always next year, right?! I did watch the awards show briefly, but I only really care about the fashion. And let me say…I was rather disappointed with the red carpet gowns this year. There were a lot of dresses that had potential but ended up falling short. For example, I loved the texture and color of Emma Stone’s gown, but I just couldn’t get on board with the crazy shoulders. Then there was a collection of just completely unflattering looks! Nonetheless, I picked three of my favorites and rounded up similar dresses for you to shop, so you can bring the runway to your front door. Every day should be a fashion show, and the world is your red carpet! (Totally cheesy, but I still love it.) Most of the dresses are cocktail dresses so you can wear them for normal-people special occasions because, unfortunately, not all of us have black-tie events to attend. So get out your cute wallets and happy shopping! Continue reading “Oscar Style at Home: Three Looks from the Runway to Your Front Door”
