Feeling so happy after a weekend spent with one of my best friends! We haven’t seen each other since June of last year, and even though the weather was crappy, that didn’t stop us from having a blast. I made her a bingo card for the weekend to celebrate her birthday—with some squares being activities I planned for us and other squares being chance-based, such as running into another person celebrating a birthday—and it was SO fun crossing items off throughout the weekend. Graphic Prints with The Thrifty Six

This month’s thrifty theme of Traffic-Stopping Graphics definitely made me stop and think. I thought the theme was referring to graphic tees (hence my explanation if you read my thrifty friends’ posts), but after seeing the looks everyone else put together, I realized graphic can also refer to prints—thank goodness for me because that’s what I decided to style! Abstract Absurdity

Today is National Absurdity Day (there’s a day for everything), so the theme for November’s Thrifty Six collaboration is absurd outfits. My initial thought went to a huge, teal, tulle Betsy Johnson dress that I thrifted for $1 and have never worn (because it’s so out there), but then I remembered it’s still at my parents’ house in Boise. So I had to go with Plan B instead. Since I don’t have any one thrifted item that’s particularly absurd, my goal was to put together a few of my funkier thrifted pieces for an overall absurd outfit.
