Goooooood afternoon! I didn’t get a chance to take outfit pictures yesterday (more like, I was just being lazy and didn’t want to) so I decided to round up some costumes I’ve worn in the past as more Halloween inspiration. If you’re trying to come up with a costume but are stuck, remember this: you don’t have to buy something new. Consider re-wearing an old costume, or make use of parts of past costumes and turn it into something cute/new. I give some ideas below for how to reinvent each of my past costumes into something I could wear now. (By the way, this Flapper Girl costume was from my school’s Decades Day two years ago.) As part of my economics class, you can choose to wear “professional work attire” each day to school in order to receive payment in fake money (like Monopoly dollars; we have a fake “mini economy” to buy/sell goods and services). I love to dress up, and I basically wear work clothes every day to school anyways. So when the option came around to start dressing up for school to get paid, I naturally said yes. But what I’ve learned? Other girls my age don’t know what is work appropriate, which makes sense since they don’t have any professional work experience. I think I only know because of years of watching “What Not to Wear”. 🙂 So whether you’re in my econ class, you have a college interview, or you’re about to start a new job, the work wear guidelines I’m about to share will be the perfect tool for you! Initially I hoped to post a different costume for each Monday in the month of October, but I kind of missed that mark sooo…I’ll be sharing today’s outfit and two additional costumes in the coming weeks before Halloween. Stay tuned for perfectly fashionable costume inspiration that you *may* already have in your closet. All about that reuse, amirite? Continue reading “Take Me to the Masquerade”
