Thrift Shopping Haul!

thrift shopping, thrifting, green plaid loft dress

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I did a poll on my Stories last week about whether or not you wanted to see a blog post about my thrift shopping finds… and the answer was an overwhelming yes! So today I’m very excited to finally be rounding up my thrifting purchases from last December. I explained on Stories that I had initially tried to do this post back in the beginning of January, right before I returned to school, but the photos didn’t turn out (and I wasn’t planning on bringing all of these items to campus). So now that I’m back home, I can finally share the goodies I got while thrift shopping over Christmas break. All of these items are from the Assistance League Thrift Shop in Las Vegas, which is a very well-kept store full of hidden treasures, and the money made at the thrift store is used to buy new clothes for school children in need. I highly recommend stopping by the store if you ever go to Las Vegas! I guess some of the bougie Vegas folk donate their high-end items to this store because I found some incredible deals. New York Fashion Week Wannabe

chic outfit, street style, edgy, fashion blogger

I can’t say it’s “always been my dream” to go to New York Fashion Week, but ever since I entered the world of fashion blogging in 2016 and started following certain bloggers religiously, I’ve had this itch to partake in the madness that is fashion week. I mean, you get to dress up in fancy (and a little crazy) outfits, you tour around NYC in the true New Yorker chaos, and you get to experience high-end fashion with some of the most stylish ladies on the block. Sign me up! Fashion Week officially starts tomorrow and ends on the 14th. So until I can snag a plane ticket to the Big Apple (oh, and a few tickets to the runway shows), I decided this year I would create my own street style look that I would be wearing at NYFW if I were going. Paparazzi, please no photos! Continue reading “New York Fashion Week Wannabe”

Dior Exhibit: From Paris to the World

Dior gowns, Dior fashion, haute couture

A few weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to attend a Dior Exhibit currently on display at the Denver Art Museum. As the museum’s website describes, Dior: From Paris to the World showcases 70 years of the Dior fashion house, providing the history behind its founder Christian Dior and his successors, displaying more than 200 couture dresses (as well as photographs, sketches, videos, and accessories), and explaining the muses behind each collection. I don’t follow designers very closely and didn’t know what to expect from this exhibit. However, I knew I would love it either way because it was fashion and dresses and all things pretty. Well let me just tell you…Touring this collection completely blew me out of the water! Seeing these gorgeous haute couture dresses in real life made *almost* all my fashion dreams come true. (The last one would be, of course, actually wearing one of these dresses.) Continue reading “Dior Exhibit: From Paris to the World”
