My Coronavirus Silver Linings

moving out, college dorm room, college student, coronavirus

Hello again! Long time no see. I hate that I haven’t been able to post for the last 3 usual posting days (yikes, it’s been a long time since I was that absent from the blog), but with finals and having to suddenly move out of my dorm, I just didn’t get around to it. That doesn’t mean I don’t have tons of blog post ideas for the upcoming weeks, though! As I mentioned on Instagram the other day, it seems like the majority of people prefer to maintain a sense of normalcy during this trying time and continue to rely on their usual blogs/social media/pastimes to temporarily distract themselves from the news. With that said, I have decided to continue blogging like regular, but with an occasional—and temporary—coronavirus twist (more posts centered on being at home, etc.). Bloopers and A College ‘Mood’

college, college student, blooper photos, fringe dress

Yesterday, I lacked the time (and all motivation) to take blog photos, so I decided to dig into the archives and find some funny blooper pictures to post instead—it’s been a hot minute (as the kids say) since I last shared a blooper post! I love to do this every once and awhile to show some “realness” because trust me, the majority of the photos I take are not good. And given that students are extremely stressed this time of year with midterms/finals before spring break (depending on if you have a traditional semester system or a quarter system, like me), I figured, why not caption all of the blooper photos with college-related stressors? I got the idea from Meghan at butterflyempire.com. She always posts blooper photos on her Instagram stories and lets her followers come up with funny captions—such a good idea! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this post, especially if you’re a stressed out college student like me. Continue reading “Bloopers and A College ‘Mood’”

Staying Healthy in College: My Tips and Tricks

how to stay healthy in college, staying healthy, college living

I’m gonna get real with you all today (actually, I always try to be ‘real’ with you guys, as evidenced in my weird and awkward blog posts here, here, and here). Staying healthy in college is tough – very tough. You’re constantly surrounded by delicious temptations – pizza, ice cream, candy, oh my! – and you’re stuck with sub-par cafeteria food, which usually means turning to unhealthy snacks to satisfy your grumbling belly. Unlike high school, where a lot of us had some sort of scheduled after-school physical activity, college leaves you solely responsible to make time to exercise between your busy classes and stacks of extremely dry books to read. It takes a lot of self-discipline to get to the gym. Sure, maybe you lucked out and have a kitchen this year, so cooking your own meals is ideal. But realistically, do you have time to cook every night? Or the motivation? What about the money? ‘Cause healthy food ain’t cheap. I could go on, but can you see the dilemma of being healthy in college? Can you relate? Continue reading “Staying Healthy in College: My Tips and Tricks”
