Beach day in Scotland! I snapped the above photo yesterday while on an East Coast tour to Aberdeen (more on that in tomorrow’s blog post). Since I grew up in Washington state around the Puget Sound, I love being by the water and find so much peace in it. A little relaxation by the North Sea was the perfect way to recharge after a long week—one I am now realizing involved an unusually high amount of dancing! No complaints here. For the first week since I’ve been here, I spent more time inside doing schoolwork than out in the world exploring. I’ve been feeling a lot of stress this week to figure out what exactly I want to get out of my study abroad experience, and I’ve realized I feel guilty when I just stay in doing the same things I could have done back at school in Denver. It’s really important to me to try new activities and get the most out of this adventure! But I have also been trying to give myself grace and recognize that it’s okay to have rest days. I guess I wasn’t thinking last week when I thought the 52nd weekly recap would be the last one of 2021, but here is the *truly* final week-in-review, featuring my last few outfits of the year, my first look of 2022, and a few hockey games.
