Happy New Year’s Eve! I’ve tried writing this post’s intro over and over again, and I’ve come to the conclusion that there’s really no way to start an end-of-year blog post without using at least one cliché phrase (such as “I can’t believe the year is already over!” or “What a year it’s been!”). No matter how many times I think these phrases, I will try to keep them to a minimum today… Anyway, I always love sharing these yearly recap posts to reflect on everything I accomplished in the last 12 months (and everything I did not, to learn what I could do differently next year). While it may be an increasingly unpopular opinion, I love the hope of a new year—the promise of a fresh start and a blank planner to fill with all my wildest aspirations. Will I lose this new year momentum by the time February rolls around? Probably, if I’m being honest with myself. But that doesn’t stop me from dreaming big every January and imagining what life I want to make for myself this year. We can all agree that 2020 wreaked havoc on our plans and goals, so I’m a little apprehensive about planning for 2021. It’s safe to say that 2020 panned out a little differently than expected, and I imagine planner fanatics everywhere have used more white-out this past year than ever before. But to say that our 2020 planners were completely a waste? That’s simply not true.
