Complementary

Happy Hump Day!

Today I’m wearing complementary colors, something that I don’t usually do. Cobalt blue and bright orange kind of clash in my eyes, but I feel like the navy and burnt orange colors of this outfit actually work well together, especially since there is already orange and blue in the skirt.

I wore this outfit while in Iowa to explore the town and also at a family gathering. It’s great for those blistering summer days because it keeps me cool; I love wearing skirts and dresses when it’s hot and humid out.

I never thought I liked blue and orange together, but now that I think about it, I’ve been on somewhat of a blue and orange kick lately. Just check out my orange purse and navy combo here or my orange pants and turquoise jewelry from Monday’s post.

Fun and Colorful

Hello everyone!

What better way is there to start the week than with an outfit that makes you happy? This outfit is so colorful and bright, I can’t help but smile. I love this crochet tank for summer and fall, but I usually pair it with the same two bottoms over and over again. I couldn’t believe I had never thought to pair it with these bright orange pants!

I wore this outfit on a day trip to Colorado Springs. It was the perfect outfit to wear while exploring downtown and shopping. It’s super comfortable, and my new hat did a great job of keeping the sun off my face. It did not, however, keep my shoulders from getting burned! Speaking of sunburns, did anyone notice my racerback tan? It’s bad, I know.

If anyone is gluten-free and visiting Colorado Springs anytime soon, you have to stop at Coquette’s Bistro and Bakery. It is 100% gluten-free and absolutely delicious! I was overwhelmed by all of the GF options and had a hard time deciding what to get. In the end, I went with the chicken strips and a maple bacon donut for dessert. Yum!

A Hint of Neon

Happy Friday!

I think this shirt would have to be one of my favorites…For one, I think it’s really unique because of the little neon yellow rectangles and the aqua color. It’s also super comfortable and great for rolling the sleeves and tying the front, like I did in this outfit. And the best part? Drumroll please…It was only $7! Can you believe that? I found it on major sale in the JCPenney clearance section. I have a lot of blue and turquoise things in my closet, so this shirt goes with a lot.

I’ve worn this outfit to school before and to lunch with my friends. I love it because it’s not super dressy, but it’s also not too casual, which makes it really versatile. The knot in the shirt makes it a little more flirty, and the sandals keep it dressed down for summer.

Blouse: JCPenney, $7

Dress worn as Skirt: Kohl’s, $36

Shoes: Younker’s, $20
