Boho by the Water

Hello! I hope everyone had a nice weekend.

I wore this outfit in Kansas! We spent most of the day driving, but this outfit was super comfortable for being in a car all day. The pants feel like pajamas. Usually my travel outfits consist of jeans or athletic shorts and an old t-shirt, so to find a cute and comfortable outfit for traveling was exciting.

The lighting in these pictures make my top look like a red/brown color, but it is actually maroon. I’m not going to lie, I have this top in three different colors…I feel like if you like a piece that much, why not get it in every color? And this mock-neck top was only $11, so it just makes sense.

Sunset Skirt

Thank goodness it’s Friday!

Isn’t this skirt really pretty? I think it looks like a sunset, and even though I’ve never been to Hawaii, this seems like it would be the perfect outfit to wear on vacation there. I originally put on some shell jewelry, but then I decided that was too island-like for not being on an island…

I wore this outfit to go see a movie with my friends downtown and then to get ice cream afterwards. I saw Me Before You. Did any of you see it? More importantly, did any of you read the book? I loved the book, but I have to stop talking about it now, and those of you who have read it or have seen the movie know why…

I bought this skirt the same time I bought the orange and navy skirt I wore in Wednesday’s post. I can’t believe it’s been four years since I got them! Or that they still fit; today’s orange skirt is getting on the shorter side. I remember buying these skirts for my trip to Puerto Rico, so at least this one was intended to be worn on an island. 😉

Complementary

Happy Hump Day!

Today I’m wearing complementary colors, something that I don’t usually do. Cobalt blue and bright orange kind of clash in my eyes, but I feel like the navy and burnt orange colors of this outfit actually work well together, especially since there is already orange and blue in the skirt.

I wore this outfit while in Iowa to explore the town and also at a family gathering. It’s great for those blistering summer days because it keeps me cool; I love wearing skirts and dresses when it’s hot and humid out.

I never thought I liked blue and orange together, but now that I think about it, I’ve been on somewhat of a blue and orange kick lately. Just check out my orange purse and navy combo here or my orange pants and turquoise jewelry from Monday’s post.
