Differences in Education Between Scotland and the U.S.

Well, I waited so dang long to post the rest of my study abroad content that it has now become back-to-school content instead… I guess it works, considering most of the outfits I wore in Scotland were more suited for fall, anyway! Today I wanted to talk a little bit about the differences in education I received abroad compared to my home university in the States. For those of you who don’t know, I spent my final semester studying at the University of Glasgow (GU) in Scotland, and I attended the University of Denver (DU) for the other three and a half years of undergrad. I can really only speak on the two schools I attended, but I was fascinated to realize there were a lot more differences between my host and home universities’ academics than I expected.  Continue reading “Differences in Education Between Scotland and the U.S.”

May 2022 Month in Review

What a month it’s been! Although I suppose the more accurate statement would be, “What a year it’s been,” since I’ve probably said those same words about every month of 2022 so far. I returned from an amazing study abroad experience in Scotland the first week of May, attended my brother’s wedding in Las Vegas, took an apartment-hunting trip to Denver, and am currently in Boston visiting a friend. The hecticness hasn’t ended quite yet, as I’ll be moving back to Denver in a few weeks and attending my graduation, but then I will finally be able to settle down into my new job and life in Denver. So many exciting things still on the horizon! While this outfit is more fit for fall than summer, it was a go-to in Glasgow and a look I photographed right before leaving. Finally getting around to sharing it today. Continue reading “May 2022 Month in Review”

I spent all this time my last week or so in Glasgow planning out the rest of my study abroad content to be published on the blog by the end of May… Well, it’s basically the end of the month and I’ve hardly posted at all the last few weeks! I still have lotttts of travel-related blog posts I want to share, so I’m hoping to crank those out the next couple of days (I know, I know… this is now the second or third time I’ve said that). But at least I’m kicking it off today with a round-up of some of Glasgow’s top-notch museums. I really enjoyed exploring the city’s museums—for fun, with friends, and sometimes even for class—so I wanted to share some of my favorites here (as well as one you can skip out on) for anyone planning a visit to Glasgow soon.
