Spring Into Easter Weekend with These Outfits

Easter outfit, checkered dress, orange purse, silver heels

Easter Sunday is this weekend (thank goodness—I’ll finally be able to eat dessert again after giving it up for Lent), and the holiday is the perfect excuse to get dressed up! Whether you’re religious and plan on going to mass, prefer to go to a nice brunch, or simply want to stay home to enjoy your baskets and egg hunts from the infamous Easter bunny, I’ve rounded up 13 of my favorite spring appropriate looks to give you inspiration for every occasion. Me? I haven’t decided on an outfit yet, but you betcha I’m going all out—dress, heels, curly hair, and makeup! Who else loves holidays and spring (and candy)? I’m so excited! Dior Exhibit: From Paris to the World

Dior gowns, Dior fashion, haute couture

A few weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to attend a Dior Exhibit currently on display at the Denver Art Museum. As the museum’s website describes, Dior: From Paris to the World showcases 70 years of the Dior fashion house, providing the history behind its founder Christian Dior and his successors, displaying more than 200 couture dresses (as well as photographs, sketches, videos, and accessories), and explaining the muses behind each collection. I don’t follow designers very closely and didn’t know what to expect from this exhibit. However, I knew I would love it either way because it was fashion and dresses and all things pretty. Well let me just tell you…Touring this collection completely blew me out of the water! Seeing these gorgeous haute couture dresses in real life made *almost* all my fashion dreams come true. (The last one would be, of course, actually wearing one of these dresses.) Continue reading “Dior Exhibit: From Paris to the World”

Oscar Style at Home: Three Looks from the Runway to Your Front Door

purple mauve tulle Jenny Yoo dress

Okay so I didn’t get invited to the Academy Awards this year…But it’s fine, it’s whatever. There’s always next year, right?! I did watch the awards show briefly, but I only really care about the fashion. And let me say…I was rather disappointed with the red carpet gowns this year. There were a lot of dresses that had potential but ended up falling short. For example, I loved the texture and color of Emma Stone’s gown, but I just couldn’t get on board with the crazy shoulders. Then there was a collection of just completely unflattering looks! Nonetheless, I picked three of my favorites and rounded up similar dresses for you to shop, so you can bring the runway to your front door. Every day should be a fashion show, and the world is your red carpet! (Totally cheesy, but I still love it.) Most of the dresses are cocktail dresses so you can wear them for normal-people special occasions because, unfortunately, not all of us have black-tie events to attend. So get out your cute wallets and happy shopping! Continue reading “Oscar Style at Home: Three Looks from the Runway to Your Front Door”
