Got my quintessential “throwing leaves in the air” fall picture! I took this one a couple of weeks ago but realized I never shared it on the blog. Last year’s leaf pic was a western-inspired outfit and the year before was one of my favorite preppy fall looks ever. Thankfully I had my boyfriend’s help getting this year’s shot, but usually it takes several tries to get the perfect falling leaf display using a tripod.

Monday, November 13

I had a very productive work-from-home day and went for a run in the evening (but never put on real clothes, so no OOTD!).

This is one of the sweaters I got while shopping on my birthday. I was so excited to pair it with these trousers (I rarely wear these pants because I have so few solid-colored tops), but I think the outfit fell flat. It needs a scarf or statement necklace or something to spice it up. This light purple color is already sold out online, but I linked the same sweater in baby pink in the widget below.

Light Purple Sweater: Banana Republic, $45, first time wearing | Pinstripe Trousers: Hand-me-down | Black Booties: Vivaia, gifted by brand, last worn here

I didn’t think much of this outfit, but I got lots of compliments on it at work! Two people asked me if I embroidered the sleeves myself. I didn’t, but I think I probably could have… My grandma made the necklace, and the pink and green beads go so perfectly with the rest of the outfit.

Embroidered Sweater: Francesca’s, $45 ($1.73 per wear), last worn here | Olive Green Pants: JCPenney, $35 ($1.30 per wear) | Taupe Booties: Shop LC, gifted by brand

I woke up with a cold, so I decided to work from home today. I just threw on this lounge set, which I sewed myself during Covid! My aunt taught me some sewing basics and helped me make it. (It’s much more teal in person than it looks in this pic.) I would love to get better at sewing, and while I do have a sewing machine and table that belonged to my mom, it just takes up too much space in my tiny apartment. Maybe one day when I have a house of my own, I can really learn how to make my own clothes.

Lounge Set: Sewn by me, $50, last worn here | White Sneakers: Primark, $10 ($0.59 per wear), last worn here

I worked from home, grabbed dinner with some friends, and then watched The Killer on Netflix (it’s incredibly boring—I do not recommend). This is the first time I wore my new Kendra Scott necklace, which was a birthday gift, and I absolutely love how dainty it is! I linked it in the widget below (it’s on sale right now).

Striped Tee: Down East, $18 ($0.50 per wear), last worn here | Cardigan: Unknown, $30 ($0.70 per wear), last worn here | Cropped Flared Jeans: Express, $40 ($0.70 per wear), last worn here | Booties: Portland Leather Goods, $95 ($31.67 per wear), last worn here

I didn’t really do anything today aside from taking blog photos (this is a sneak peak for tomorrow’s Thrifty Six post!) and catching up with various people on the phone. A very lazy Saturday indeed!

I went back to the paint-a-pottery place I visited last weekend to finish my project (a cute little Christmas gnome couple) and spent the afternoon at my aunt’s house party planning. I offered to throw her an 80s themed birthday party for her big 50th and I’m SO excited! Still haven’t decided what to wear, though.

As for today’s outfit, this grey ensemble is a new look for me, but I really like how it came together. I rarely wear these funky furry sneakers (which my boyfriend hates, by the way), but I always get compliments when I do.

Grey Crop Top: Apricot Lane Boutique, $20 ($6.67 per wear), last worn here | Cardigan: JCPenney, $18 ($0.95 per wear), last worn here | Grey Jeans: Express, $19 ($0.35 per wear), last worn here | Grey Furry Sneakers: Thrifted, $20 ($2.86 per wear), last worn here

. . . . .

Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? Thanks for stopping by the blog today, and have a great rest of your Sunday!

Miles of smiles,
Grace

  1. I think the new sweater’s cute, and I’m not sure I would’ve been able to resist either! But you’ve often said how blush pink isn’t your best color, and I think this has a similar effect. What do you think?
