Such a fun week! I feel like my boyfriend and I crammed an entire month’s worth of fall dates into the last few days—pumpkin patch, haunted house, pumpkin carving, and a Halloween party. I’ve been trying really hard to fix my sleep schedule lately and go into the office earlier (traffic is better and it feels so good to be done with work at 3:30), so this week I put out all my outfits the night before. I’ve fallen out of this habit, but it makes such a difference in the morning and saves me so much time. I challenged myself this week and tried to only put together combinations I’ve never worn before! It was more difficult than I expected.

After work today, we went to a nearby farm to pick up some pumpkins (I was hoping to snag some photos in this cute outfit, but the lighting wasn’t great). Question for you—what time of year do you go to the pumpkin patch? The one we went to was completely picked over so we had to choose pumpkins from the front displays! A little disappointing… but I guess we were too late in the season?

At least I looked super cute—I forgot about my cowgirl boots (they’re kind of hidden in my closet) but I love them with this denim skirt for a warmer fall day.

I thought I had never worn this outfit when I picked it out the night before, but once I put it on I wasn’t sure anymore… The sweater and skirt together feels very familiar. I love the matchiness of the red shoes to go with the red lips on my sweater. I really like this top, but I think I’m going to have to donate it—it’s uncomfortably small now.

I really wanted to wear these thrifted trousers today, but I had no idea it would be so hard to find a top to pair with them! As it turns out, I have very few solid-colored blouses to go with printed bottoms… Whenever I go shopping, I’m always drawn in by the fun stuff and skip the basics. I need to remember next time that I need more versatile, go-with-everything kind of shirts. I still like the pants with this maroon tie-neck blouse, but the outfit overall is pretty dark.

After work, our usual gang tried out the new-to-us trivia spot again—there are lots of pros and cons between this place and our old trivia bar, so we’re going to test it out a few more times before deciding on a place.

Today was Dress as a Bear Day at work! One of my coworkers made a hilarious comment a couple weeks back about feeling like a bear that day (cuddly but could turn vicious at any time), so we all decided to secretly dress up like bears today and surprise her. It was so random and so much fun!

I bought a bear onesie for the event, so I needed an outfit that I could easily fit under the bear costume. This tee and skinny jeans were perfect. Definitely more of a casual ‘fit for work, but we were dressing as bears, after all—how serious can our dress code really be?

In the evening, my boyfriend and I went out to dinner and then to Terror in the Corn at Anderson Farms. My aunt recommended it to me as the best haunted attraction in the Denver area, and I have to agree! I would highly recommend it (I’ve also been to Frightmare, Field of Screams, and 13th Floor—this was better than all of them). The sets were so unique, and instead of relying on animatronics and other props, the actors are what made the haunt worthwhile.

How cute is this new outfit from Clara Sunwoo?! It arrived this week for a collaboration, so I immediately wore it and photographed it with the fall leaves as a backdrop. The pleather pants are so trendy for fall, and I could easily see this outfit transition to the holiday season with a red purse and bold red lipstick. Love!

My boyfriend and I had a sushi dinner date tonight, which I’ve been craving since he went to Japan and has been regaling me with stories of all the good food. I didn’t know this, but it turns out you are supposed to dip nigiri pieces into the soy sauce fish-side down, instead of rice-side down, and then place it on your tongue fish-side down. It makes it so much more flavorful! (Nigiri is the kind with a mound of rice and a single slab of fish on top, not a roll.)

After our delicious dinner, we carved pumpkins while watching Hocus Pocus. Neither of us had seen it before, and it was so much more entertaining than I expected!

I spent the day running around doing chores and prepping for the Halloween party that my boyfriend and I threw tonight. I was really happy with how our costumes came together and will be sharing pics on Monday! The party was really fun and the skeleton cupcakes I made were a big hit.

Sunday, October 29

I slept in after the late night and then spent the day cleaning and working on some blog tasks. Peep the goat on the roof in the picture on the left.

. . . . .

Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? I love Monday’s pumpkin patch ‘fit! Hope you had a great Halloweekend.

Miles of smiles,
Grace
