August? Already? How?! This summer has flown by, and it’s stressing me out so much. It’s been so rainy in Denver most of the summer that it’s been impossible to do all the outdoor activities I generally associate with the season. Even while golfing today we nearly got rained out, and the weather felt so much like fall. Usually I’m all for autumn, but I am not even close to ready this year… I need more heat and sundresses and long days!!

Monday, July 31

This is one of my go-to summer outfits—so easy to just throw on. I didn’t have any meetings at work or anything going on in the evening so it was a very uneventful day!

I’m not in love with today’s outfit. I wanted to wear this green plaid dress, which I usually pair with white sandals heels, but I was not in the mood for high heels. I don’t have any flat white sandals so I decided on these denim d’orsay flats from JCrew. It’s not the worst combo I’ve ever seen, but I just don’t think the dress and shoes pair very well together.

I’m obsessed with this outfit. These black pants are new from Clara Sunwoo, and I really love them for work. They’re such a great professional piece and so versatile. I paired them with this lace blouse today, which is one of my favorite pieces I own (it has beautiful old-fashioned buttons going down the back). I topped it off with my Vivaia heels and dangly green earrings for a neutral and classic look!

I always think this dress is much cuter on its own, but I do think a denim jacket is the best option for when I need a light layer. Even though I have a million dresses, I’m realizing this summer that this maxi is one of the only sundresses I own. Most of my dresses are either too fancy for everyday wear or are meant for winter.

It was a pretty chill work from home day, and then my boyfriend and I hosted a game night with some of my friends and their boyfriends. We played a really fun game, called The Best Friend Game, where we got to test our knowledge of our significant others. It would be a fun option for a bridal shower or bachelorette party.

I’ve never paired this peplum top with my olive green eyelet shorts before but I thought it was a cute combo. Although, I fear I might finally have to give these shorts away… I’ve had them forever, and I think they’ve finally gotten too tight, ha.

Saturday, August 5

I got my replacement phone earlier in the week (if you haven’t been keeping up with my phone debacle, the camera stopped focusing even though the device isn’t even a year old yet) so I spent the morning setting that up, which was unsurprisingly annoying. But afterwards, I had the most perfect Saturday to myself, spending the rest of the day working on my college scrapbook. I still haven’t finished my freshman year, but I can already tell it’s going to be a huge book.

I don’t usually share workout outfits (and I don’t keep track of cost per wear for non-fashionable clothes like athletic pieces and pajamas) but I thought this look was pretty cute. I only wish my shorts were a little higher rise so less stomach was on display.

Sunday, August 6

My boyfriend, two friends, and I went golfing today (only my third time out on a course). As you can tell from the first pic of today’s post, I finally broke out one of my new golf dresses featured in this Reel! (But I unfortunately forgot to take a mirror pic.) It’s very cute and I want it in more colors now!

  1. We’re having a very similar summer this year and I am feeling the same way; definitely not ready for fall yet even though it really is starting to feel a bit more like fall. It was such a rainy summer that I just want it to last a little bit longer.

    1. Yes! I don’t think I’ve ever felt this way; usually by the end of summer I start getting excited for fall (and school) and feel satisfied with the seasons changing. But not this year…

    1. My favorite pair of denim shorts is from Target and I saw they have it in more colors… I think I might need to order them!
