Look how far my little plant has come! I’ve been growing these marigolds from seed as part of a team building exercise at work and recently repotted him in this vibrant pot that my grandma gave me. He was looking close to death a few times, but I managed to salvage him! I’m so excited he’s bloomed and was pleasantly surprised by the mix of red in the petals. I’ve had several plants before, some I’ve even kept alive for years, but I’ve never grown something from seed. Makes me think I should plant a few more things next spring!
Monday, July 3
I had such a perfect day off in my PJs, lounging in bed for a long time before spending the afternoon finally starting my college scrapbook. I have a million photos and scraps to include so it’s gonna be a hefty boy!
Tuesday, July 4
I spent the morning knocking off some to-do list items, including taking these blog photos, before throwing on a swimsuit for the rest of the day. In the afternoon several friends came over to the apartment for a pool party, and we grilled burgers and brats at one of the apartment’s community grills. The weather stayed sunny most of the time by the pool but turned to heavy rain right as the sun started going down… Thankfully it let up just long enough for us to watch the firework display at a nearby park!
Wednesday, July 5
I really think we should get July 5th off instead of July 4th—that way you can stay up late watching the fireworks instead of being a zombie at work the next day. I wore this pink blazer outfit again, which I styled for the first time a few weeks ago, but opted for my white mules instead. In the evening, my boyfriend and I managed to drag ourselves to our usual Wednesday night trivia and finally won third place! (Which meant money off our bar tab, woohoo.)

It was a little cold and gloomy today so I opted for this patterned shift dress and a leather jacket. I don’t love wearing any layer over this dress because I think it looks weird with the vertical lines, but this racer jacket was the least offensive option.
Printed Dress: Max Studio via Nordstrom Rack, $40 ($2.00 per wear), last worn here | Leather Jacket: JCPenney, $62 ($0.94 per wear), last worn here | Blue Flats: DSW, $5 ($0.18 per wear), last worn here
Friday, July 7
I threw on this simple tank dress because I had my second treatment of laser hair removal today, and I knew it would be easy just to pull my dress up instead of getting fully unclothed. I’ve been loving these blue and green printed sneakers lately!
My boyfriend and I snuck away for a quick lunch during work, and then we spent the night in watching In Bruges and Inglorious Basterds.
Black Dress: Hand-me-down, last worn here | Denim Jacket: JCPenney, $19 ($0.10 per wear), last worn here | Printed Shoes: UIN Footwear, gifted by brand, last worn here
Saturday, July 8
My boyfriend was busy golfing today so I spent the day working on blog stuff, including a few Reels and my monthly recap. I also took my phone into a repair shop to get my camera issues diagnosed, and they ordered a new camera for me. Hopefully I’ll be able to get it installed by the end of next week.
I was so excited to wear these overalls again today but I have a sneaky suspicious they shrunk a little in the wash… They just felt a lot shorter and I wasn’t as comfortable as I was last time I wore them. I love the denim paired with the lilac bodysuit, though!
Purple Bodysuit: Macy’s, $10 ($1.11 per wear) | Overalls: Pollux, $40 ($20 per wear) | White Espadrille Sandals: DSW, $45 ($0.58 per wear), last worn here
Sunday, July 9
I slept in so late this morning (much needed) and then went thrifting with my boyfriend in the afternoon to find matching Barbie and Ken outfits to wear to the Barbie premier. We lucked out and found some really awesome pieces—I can’t wait to do a blog post later in the month! I always try to wear simple dresses when I know I’m going to be trying clothes on because they’re the easiest to quickly slip in and out of.

. . . . .
Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? I never notice patterns when getting dressed each morning, but I always think it’s interesting to see what I gravitated towards each week when I write these blog posts—for example, I wore a lot of black the past few days.
Miles of smiles,
Grace
You’ve got some winners this week: Wednesday and Friday are my favorite. That blazer combined with the floral blouse is such a pretty combo.

Thanks Mireille!
Congrats on the marigold! I had a mini rosebush in a pot that was doing so well but then it got black spot fungus. All the roses in my landlords garden got it and all the roses are dying. I am so mad.
The pool party sounded so fun and love all your looks here in particular loving those white slides.

Oh no! Ugh that stinks, especially something like that that’s so out of your control.
