Halloween in June? You know how much I love costumes, so I couldn’t resist dressing up for a horror-themed party at a local bar on Friday. Thank goodness for the long weekend, though, because I needed it after such a jam-packed week!

It was an uneventful work-from-home day, but I loved my cute summery outfit! The western top is a hand-me-down from my mom, and my denim shorts are still available at Target (I’m thinking about buying the other colors). In the past I’ve worn this top and shorts with white sneakers, but I decided to style them with my red and white London-themed shoes instead—such a cute addition to the look.

Today marked my one year work anniversary! I can’t believe how quickly the time has flown and am grateful to love my first job so much. My aunt swung by to see my office and brought lunch for us to enjoy in the park. It was such a fun break from the workday, though extremely hot out (finally—it’s been a cool, rainy summer so far).

I like pairing this leopard blouse with these jeans for a simple work outfit, but I decided to spice it up today with my maroon velvet flats—what do you think? Maybe they clash, but I wanted to be a little bolder in my choices today instead of going for the plain option. After work, I grabbed drinks with my old professor and then made my way to Odde’s Music Grill for our usual Wednesday night trivia.

At the end of the night, we noticed a few people coming out of a giant, steel refrigerator door at the back of the bar, which piqued our interest. We decided to investigate and discovered a huge speakeasy behind the door! It was so exciting to accidentally discover a hidden bar as opposed to just looking up speakeasies in the area. The drinks were amazing, and I can’t wait to bring friends and out-of-town visitors there.

Thursday, June 29

I love this outfit for work and wore it last summer as well. The striped sweater from DR2 by Daniel Rainn is so cute, especially for my freezing office! In the evening, I met up with some extended family members for dinner, and we enjoyed watching quite the hailstorm from the patio. I should have brought a rain jacket when I left the apartment this morning—you just never know what to expect with Colorado weather.

Friday, June 30

I had a dentist appointment in the morning and a busy day of working at home before the long weekend. This white tee and navy shorts combo would make such a cute Fourth of July outfit with a bold red lipstick. In the evening, a few friends and I went back to the speakeasy we discovered on Wednesday for their June of the Undead party, which included horror-themed trivia, spooky cocktails, and costumes.

. . . . .

Saturday, July 1

I had such an amazing lazy day! I spent the first half in bed, finally started my college scrapbook, and played tennis in the evening. My boyfriend and I watched the movie Children of Men after dinner and it was SO good.

. . . . .

Sunday, July 2

My boyfriend, a friend, and I spent most of the day golfing! This was my second time playing 18 holes, and I managed it a lot better this go around. It was so much fun and the fourth person we were paired with was a blast (thankfully—I was nervous to golf with a stranger since I’m such a newbie). No outfit pic today because I looked like a total bum in an athletic top and hiking pants. I would have worn a tennis skirt, but I decided to get laser hair removal on my lower legs, which requires keeping them out of the sun. I’m in desperate need of some cute golf clothes!

. . . . .

Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? Do you have any fun Fourth of July plans? We are just going to have a chill day by the pool (with every other person who lives in our apartment, I’m sure) and then watch the fireworks at a nearby park. I’m excited!

Miles of smiles,
Grace

    1. Thanks Mireille! It’s finally supposed to be hot and sunny here next week – but it’s always freezing in my office so makes it hard to dress.
