Another week bites the dust! For once it went by really slowly—I can’t believe Memorial Day was only seven days ago… My boyfriend and I were supposed to spend the weekend at my friend’s ranch in Wyoming, with her and her fiancé and one other couple, but we sadly got rained out. It’s been so uncharacteristically gloomy in Denver lately, and this week’s forecast calls for more of the same. Instead, my boyfriend and I had a quiet night in on Friday, where he surprised me with this beautiful cocktail. Who knew I had my own personal bartender?

The weather was considerate enough to give us a sunny Memorial Day after days of rain. My boyfriend and I were very excited to break out our swimsuits and spend most of the day poolside! We read, drank mimosas, and passed the ball around with these water lacrosse sticks, which was super fun. My aunt handed down to me this adorable yellow ruffle bikini from Ted Baker a couple of months ago and I’m absolutely obsessed with it.

All three of my meetings at work today got cancelled, which was unusual (and a little disappointing—I know a lot of people hate meetings but I kind of love them because they make the day go by faster). After work, I met up with two of my girlfriends at one of their apartments for dinner and a little wine night. Super fun!

On Wednesdays we wear pink! I’ve never worn this floral ruffle blouse with my hot pink blazer before and wasn’t sure about the combo at first—I couldn’t decide if the front ruffle would look weird hanging out of the blazer. But in the end, I really liked how this outfit came together and got lots of compliments on the bright color. I think it would have looked super cute with my yellow heels, but I was just not in the mood for foot discomfort today.

It was so gloomy when I got dressed this morning that I found myself reaching for a sweater, even though it wasn’t that cold outside. I love pairing this colorblock sweater with either my polka dot or my houndstooth trousers for an easy work look.

I worked from home in athletic clothes today (tsk tsk), and then my boyfriend and I played tennis in the evening—we managed to get a few hours of dry weather before the rain started again! Since our weekend plans were cancelled, we stayed in tonight and decided to watch The Father—a movie that neither of us knew anything about but that had good reviews. While technically, from a moviemaking standpoint, it was a good film, it was also the most depressing thing I’ve ever seen. Please don’t watch it. I am still recovering.

I had a rather lazy morning and then went on a run in the afternoon, which I haven’t done in forever. Shockingly, I didn’t feel terrible and ended up running much longer than I anticipated! In the evening, my boyfriend and I met up with the two couples we were supposed to spend the weekend with and grabbed dinner together. We also went to Main Event afterwards, which was a really fun and better version of Dave and Buster’s (they had bowling, laser tag, tons of arcade games, and a small obstacle course).
I never know what to wear with teal except for black, so I’m not sure how I feel about this houndstooth v-neck with my ripped straight leg jeans… What do you think? For some reason teal and denim kind of clash in my mind. I loved the snakeskin booties with the look, though.

Sunday, June 4
It was a verrry lazy and dreary Sunday—no outfit to share today because I didn’t even leave the house!

Which of this week’s (few) outfits is your favorite? I didn’t expect to love the pink blazer look as much as I did. As always, thanks for stopping by the blog, and have a great rest of your day.
Miles of smiles,
Grace
Re the teal: Since the two colors are related, I think you totally could/should try it with turquoise! At least jewelry? Also, some pattern mixing would be great- leopard or something black and white. (I don’t know if it would be your thing but I’m wondering how well your houndstooth pants would go. Otherwise, try the polka dot ones!)
Also, I’d love to see you pull some of the other colors in Tuesday’s dress for outfits! Please- for me?
Thank you Violet! Those are great suggestions! I definitely want to try my polka dot pants now. As for the request, do you mean the kind of light blue and pink/purple colors from the dress?
Yeah, either of those would be great. If I was going to pick, I’d say to go for the purple!
I love the ruffles hanging below the pink blazer. Definitely a winner.
As for teal…it’s one of my favorite colors. Sure, black is good, but white is my favorite neutral with it. Yet as a color girl, I always pair it with something bright like yellow, pink or even orange (just think blue and orange for the Broncos, haha)

Ha, blue and orange is actually one of my favorite color combos! As long as it’s not *too* Bronco-y!
Loving the looks this week!
