Three day weekends sure are relaxing… but boy, they go by fast when you watch the extended version of The Lord of the Rings trilogy! I’ve seen the original Lord of the Rings movies countless times but have never read the books, whereas my boyfriend recently finished reading the series but had only seen the movies once. It was fun to watch the extended editions on HBO Max and compare them to both the books and the original cuts! I learned so much… Each film lasted nearly four hours though, so definitely a time commitment!
Oh—I got the pics back this week from that 5K I ran a couple of weekends ago. Didn’t this action shot turn out so cute? Love the dog in the foreground.

I didn’t have any meetings today and since I was just working from home, I threw on something very casual. I love the combo of this black crop top with the magenta lounge shorts for an easy and comfy summer outfit. It was my last day dog/housesitting for my aunt, so I cleaned and packed up before making my way back to my own apartment.

My mom got this skirt for me the first time I went to Puerto Rico, back in 2012! So it is more than ten years old! Kind of crazy to think about considering I’m only 23… but the skirt still fits thanks to the elastic waist, and somehow it’s still in great condition. I love the orange and navy color combo for summer, but I decided just to pair it with white today. I’ve worn it with a light blue blouse and an orange tank top in the past.

My latest Clara Sunwoo package arrived last night so of course I had to wear it to work today! I really love the pattern and can imagine it styled lots of ways—with a denim jacket and white sandals, with a leather jacket and booties in the fall, the list goes on… I spent an embarrassingly long time trying to decide what belt to wear with this jumpsuit. I ended up going with this black pearl buckle belt, but I don’t think the pearls are the right vibe for the rest of the outfit. I also had to tape the belt closed—ha! It doesn’t have enough holes to be worn at my natural waist so I got creative… If anyone has an easy way to punch extra belt holes (I already tried with an X-acto knife), I’d love to hear it!
After work, my boyfriend, another friend, and I made our way to a local bar for trivia, which is now becoming a Wednesday night tradition. There were a couple of questions today that I could have gotten if I had just a little more time, grr! It’s always so much fun though.

I really didn’t want to get out of bed this morning, so I tried to stick with a very simple outfit—this leopard blouse and jeans. It’s been getting stormy in the afternoons lately and I got caught in the craziest lightning and thunderstorm on my drive home from work! It’s been warm enough that I’ve stopped taking a coat to the office, but now I know I should bring a rain jacket no matter what…

It was a pretty slow day at work considering the long weekend ahead. I slipped out in the afternoon for my first laser hair removal appointment, which I was very excited about! I used to get waxed pretty regularly but have been wanting to try laser for years now. I discovered this “8 sessions free” promo at the Denver Bridal Show I attended several weekends ago and decided to give it a try. It takes time to see the effects of laser hair removal, but it was far less painful than waxing. I’m optimistic!
After work, it was all stormy again so my boyfriend and I stayed in to watch the first Lord of the Rings movie, The Fellowship of the Ring, instead of going out like we had originally planned.

I wore the same outfit as yesterday to grab brunch with my boyfriend at Snooze. They got rid of my favorite menu item—the Monte Cristo French toast—but I tried the new habanero pork belly fried rice instead and it was absolutely delicious! The two of us tossed the football around in the afternoon before the same old rain clouds rolled in, so we retired to the apartment to watch the second Lord of the Rings film.
I got so sweaty playing football that I changed into this crop-top/denim skirt combo to sing karaoke in the evening. My boyfriend and I belted out “Under Pressure” together (I was David Bowie) and then I sang a song by myself as well. I think I’ve decided I will only sing songs with people from this point forward… It’s just better that way, lol.

We watched the third and final Lord of the Rings movie today and then tried to hit the pool, but “unexpected” rain clouds moved in again—every day of this weekend we checked the weather and only sun was forecasted, yet every day we got rained out. I had really wanted to play tennis or hit the driving range this weekend, but no such luck!
The rain cleared and we decided to get sushi at our favorite spot, East Moon Asian Bistro—I threw on this thrifted geometric dress for a cute date night outfit.

. . . . .
How was your long weekend? Did you get outside much or were you also rained out? Let me know which of this week’s outfits is your favorite, and have a great rest of your day!
Miles of smiles,

First off, you need to buy this: https://amzn.to/43xrcKD Not only does it make holes in your belts, but also for purse straps if they are too long and have a buckle.
I just love that your PR skirt is still in rotation. That’s so fabulous, and I know from you that it could also be a cute top!
Love the thrifted dress for date night too.

Haha it’s so annoying to me because I actually have one of those belt hole punchers! I just can’t find it anywhere! I really didn’t want to buy a new one on principle lol but I think I might finally have to surrender.
