How stinking fun are these pants?! My mom gave them to me for Easter, and I couldn’t wait to wear them today while promoting Graceful Rags at an entrepreneurship event on my alma mater’s campus. It turned out to be a little hot for bell bottoms, but all the compliments and attention I got over these pants made the overheating worth it…

I started the week in Seattle—which feels like ages ago at this point—and flew home in the early afternoon with my aunt and her family. I’ve realized recently that I much prefer to fly out early in the morning rather than any other time of day. If I leave in the afternoon or evening, I find myself feeling antsy about the travel, making the day a waste anyway.

First day back at work after a long weekend and it felt a little tough. I had so much to catch up on after being way, but at least that pile of work made the day go by quickly! I wore this old burgundy patterned dress from JCPenney, layered under my olive green utility jacket, which I’ve had since middle school.

It wasn’t much of a work day because my coworkers and I went to a Rockies baseball game in the afternoon! It was so much fun to hang outside of the office and enjoy the game—the Rockies were down the first few innings and then made a very exciting comeback. Since one of the team’s colors is purple, I sported this athletic outfit from Club Ride, an Idaho clothing brand that designs stylish cycling attire. It was the perfect thing to wear to be both professional at work and comfortable at the game. (Although my boyfriend told me I look like Barney.)

Purple Button-Down: Club Ride, $80 ($13.33 per wear) | Navy and Purple Shorts: Club Ride, $70 ($17.50 per wear) | Sneakers: UIN Footwear, gifted by brand, last worn here

I was sweaty from walking back to the office from the ballpark, so I decided to change into this casual tulle dress for trivia with my boyfriend. I haven’t worn it in a while but thought the dress looked really cute with this black denim jacket for an edgier look. Unfortunately, we were crushed at trivia tonight! But it’s always so much harder with just two people instead of a full team…

It was rainy and cold today, so I reached for a vest and decided on a little pattern mixing while I was at it. I don’t think I’ve worn this polka dot top with the gingham vest before, but I loved the combo! I’ll definitely wear it again once fall rolls back around. I started dog/house sitting for my aunt today, hence the departure from my usual oblong mirror photos.

What I thought was fog and a very dreary day turned out to be mostly smoke from Canadian wildfires! It was such an odd sensation for it to be cool and drizzly but with intense smoke in the air. The “overcast” weather made it very difficult to find the motivation to work… I threw on the same outfit as yesterday during the day and then changed into something cute for dinner at STK to celebrate a friend’s birthday.

My boyfriend helped me pick this outfit—I’ve never worn this rose gold sequin blouse with the black pleather skirt before, and I probably never would have had the boy not suggested it. I actually really like the combo! It’s not the springiest outfit but turned out to be perfect for the cool, cloudy weather. The lighting is obviously terrible, but I accessorized with a maroon circle purse and rose gold sandal heels. The best part about this look? Neither clothing item is something I wear very often, so it was exciting to decrease the cost per wear of some of my higher ticket items in one swoop.

Rose Gold Sequin Blouse: Gracie’s Boutique, $25 ($12.50 per wear), last worn here | Black Leather Skirt: Scout and Molly’s Boutique, $105 ($7.50 per wear), last worn here | Rose Gold Heels: Macy’s, $21 ($1.91 per wear), last worn here | Maroon Circle Purse: Nordstrom Rack, $50 ($2.78 per wear), last worn here

I woke up bright and early to run a 5K with a friend, which was part of the Denver Colfax Marathon. For being Denver’s biggest race weekend, it was surprisingly poorly run (pun unintended), but I had a great time nonetheless—it felt good to run after having not done it in so long. I miss my cross country days! I ended up passing out on the couch for several hours in the afternoon and then spent the evening reading and walking the pup.

Sunday, May 21

I spent most of my day at the University of Denver promoting Graceful Rags at that event. I participated in this pop-up palooza once before in the fall of 2021, when I was a senior right before going abroad. It was nice to be back on campus, though I have to say—for only graduating a year ago, I felt surprisingly out of place among all the students! I tried to snap some pics of my outfit afterwards but didn’t love how they turned out… I’ll probably reshoot tomorrow. These pants deserve the best pics!!

. . . . .

Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? Did you do anything fun this weekend? As always, thanks for stopping by today.

Miles of smiles,

Grace

  1. So many fun outfits! I love the one your boyfriend put together but the cute little dress with denim jacket on Wednesday is a close second. Of course, the one you wore to the college has major cool vibes too. Enjoy this new week! Last week of school here and ready to ditch schedules for a while.
