I wrote today’s post on the plane ride back to Denver after spending the weekend in Seattle with family. Even though I don’t consider Washington my home anymore (I was born there and moved to Boise in 2008), it will always have a special place in my heart. I love being on the Puget Sound, and we lucked out with the most beautiful and sunny weather! I only wish I had time to visit some of the old haunts while we were there.

I worked from home today and ran some errands in the afternoon, nothing too exciting. I just threw on jeans and this grey sweatshirt—it has a cute mesh v-neck in the front and mesh stripes on the sleeves.

I needed to take blog photos after work today, so I decided just to wear that outfit to the office instead of changing once I got home. I love how colorful this skirt is, which is a hand-me-down that I haven’t worn yet. I paired it with a new bodysuit and my denim jacket for a cute spring outfit.
Bodysuit: Cavender’s, $36 ($36 per wear), buy here | Denim Jacket: JCPenney, $19 ($0.11 per wear), last worn here | Striped Skirt: Hand-me-down | Nude Heels: Amazon, $46 ($4.18 per wear), last worn here | Navy Belt: Hand-me-down, last worn here

I’m not sure what I was thinking when I got dressed this morning (wearing sandal heels) because it was stormy today and pouring rain, very uncharacteristic for Denver. There was even a tornado watch, so I ended up leaving the office a little early—thank goodness there was no hail though. I don’t want my car to look like a golf ball!
I was struggling to style these new navy pants another way (I wore them in my April recap) and landed on this turquoise and navy combo. I think it’s a cute work outfit, but I still have a hard time with the legging-like material of these pants. They’re beyond comfy but I just want to make sure I’m styling them in a way that’s appropriate for work.
In the evening, my boyfriend and I went out to trivia at a nearby bar, which was really fun. (I changed into the same outfit from Monday.) I had such a blast going to pub quiz with my friends every week when I lived in Scotland, so I’m trying to recreate that tradition here!
Turquoise Blouse: Dillard’s, $22 ($1.69 per wear), last worn here | White Cardigan: Hand-me-down | Navy Pants: Clara Sunwoo, gifted by brand, last worn here | White Heels: DSW, $50 ($2.38 per wear), last worn here

I had a hectic day at work, trying to get things in order before taking Friday and Monday off for my trip. It was still raining all day today—truly a torrential downpour—so I broke into my sweaters again. I love this light blue number but the mock-neck makes it difficult to style… I’m not sure I love it with my anorak.
Blue Sweater: Sundance Outlet, $45 ($5.63 per wear), last worn here | Anorak Jacket: JCPenney, $30 ($0.45 per wear), last worn here | Skinny Jeans: Express, $42 ($0.66 per wear), last worn here | Leopard Rain Booties: Ralph Lauren via Macy’s, $60 ($0.81 per wear), last worn here

My aunt, uncle, cousin, and I made our way to the airport bright and early this morning to fly to Seattle. My other uncle picked us up, and we spent the afternoon at his house, catching up with family and playing croquet in the unusually hot Seattle sun.
White Blouse: Hand-me-down, last worn here | Denim Jacket: JCPenney, $19 ($0.10 per wear), last worn here | Yellow Pants: JCPenney, $20 ($0.71 per wear), last worn here | White Espadrilles: DSW, $45 ($0.64 per wear), last worn here
Saturday, May 13
We had a family event this morning at a cute park by the water and then grabbed a late lunch at Wally’s in Des Moines, a delicious seafood restaurant. In the afternoon, my siblings, cousin, and I snuck away for some drinks at a nearby taproom—I’m learning that there’s something so special about hanging out with your siblings as adults, after you’ve all moved away and started your own lives.
I wore this cute yellow and polka dot combo that I wore to work a few weeks ago, but I swapped the yellow suede shoes for the same white heels from Wednesday’s outfit (just forgot to photograph the look).
Yellow Blouse: Kohl’s, $20 ($1.67 per wear), last worn here | White Cardigan: Hand-me-down | Polka Dot Pants: JCPenney, $19 ($0.86 per wear), last worn here | White Heels: DSW, $50 ($2.27 per wear), last worn here

Sunday, May 14
We did a hike outside of Cle Elum this morning, which had the most beautiful views of the Stuart Mountain Range and of Mt. Rainier. After making the drive back to the city, we dropped my brother and sister-in-law off at the airport, and then my parents and I made it back down to the water to take in some extra smell of the Sound… I was disappointed to find my rock skipping skills were horribly out of practice. We spent the rest of the evening snacking and playing games on the hotel’s patio.
. . . . .
It was so nice to be back in the Seattle area, even if just for a short weekend. It’s been four years since I visited last (!!!), which is the longest stretch since I moved away… I miss the lushness and water of the Pacific Northwest.
Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? I love Saturday’s and got lots of compliments!
Miles of smiles,
