Very exciting week on the blog front! If you saw my last post, you know that I will be attending the Denver Mini Derby on May 6 to provide influencer coverage of the event. One of my goals for 2023 was to pitch to one brand/company per month, and I reached out to the Denver Mini Derby crew in March. I found out on Monday that I would get to work with them and attend the event with my aunt, which I have been wanting to do for years! I am beyond excited to see that some of my pitches are starting to pay off. I also made my first user-generated content this week—that means I created content for a brand for them to use on their social media instead of posting it myself (and I get paid for the work—the pic above is from the Reel I made). If you’re a long-time blog follower, you know how much I’ve struggled with and been discouraged by blogging in the past. I’m so happy and proud that I am finally making progress towards my goals!

I wonder how many times in my life I have worn a dress on a Monday. I always find myself reaching for them when I’m feeling lazy and tired, which is exactly how I feel coming back after a weekend. I don’t love how this printed dress looks with these edgy black sandals, though—perhaps I was still half asleep when I chose them.

I worked from home today (obviously—these shorts aren’t appropriate for the office) so I could take my car in for a tire rotation in the afternoon… I’ve been experiencing a problematic vibration at certain speeds for a few months now. I’m so happy that a rotation and rebalancing did the trick and that it wasn’t a bigger (expensive) issue like alignment!

Black and White Top: Nordstrom Rack, $15 ($0.68 per wear), last worn here | Olive Green Shorts: Loft, $25 ($1.09 per wear), last worn here | Brown Sandals: DSW, $19 ($0.22 per wear), last worn here

Definitely my favorite outfit of the week. This springy work look is a new combination for me, but I love the yellow blouse and heels together! My boyfriend came over after work for dinner and to watch more “Better Call Saul”. I made this shrimp cilantro rice bowl for the first time and it was a big hit!

Yellow Blouse: Kohl’s, $20 ($1.82 per wear), last worn here | White Cardigan: Hand-me-down | Polka Dot Trousers: JCPenney, $19 ($0.90 per wear), last worn here | Yellow Heels: DSW, $45 ($22.50 per wear), last worn here

It was warm enough for shorts on Tuesday and then cold and snowy again on Thursday… Classic Colorado. I’ve never paired this sweater with olive green pants before, and while I think the combo works, it’s kind of a boring outfit overall.

Sweater: Francesca’s, $45 ($1.88 per wear), last worn here | Olive Green Pants: JCPenney, $35 ($1.52 per wear) | Beige Booties: Sam Edelman via DSW, $70 ($0.73 per wear), last worn here

Friday, April 21

I decided to work from home today as well because nobody else was going into the office, and it was a slow work week anyways. I did put real clothes on but I wouldn’t consider this a real outfit—no accessories, nothing fancy, just a plain sweater and jeans for the sake of getting dressed. I spent a quiet Friday night at home and ended up feeling extremely bored/restless—not something I experience often. I did finally start the newest season of “You”, though!

Saturday, April 22

I threw on the same outfit as yesterday since I didn’t end up going anywhere and spent a lazy Saturday morning in bed. Well, it wasn’t lazy, I actually got a lot of blog work done… but it was nice to work from bed and lounge for several hours before getting up. The rest of the day was more of the same—I got most of my work done early (so unlike me!) and relaxed the whole afternoon.

Sunday, April 23

I met up with some girlfriends downtown for brunch and a bridal show! My friend got engaged on New Years Day, so I thought it would be fun for us to go to the show and browse different vendors. We each entered to win lots of free stuff, so fingers crossed one of us gets a prize!

This outfit is my attempt at looking trendy—I think it turned out cute, but it’s not my favorite look ever. I’m hoping to snap some pics in it soon for an upcoming blog post.

Black Crop Top: H&M, $15 ($1.50 per wear) | Pink Blazer: JCPenney, $35 ($4.38 per wear), last worn here | Straight Leg Jeans: Express, $15 ($1.07 per wear), last worn here | Black Booties: Vivaia, gifted by brand, last worn here

. . . . .

Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? Did you do anything fun over the weekend? As always, thanks for stopping by the blog today.

Miles of smiles,
Grace

    1. Thanks Mireille! I managed to snap pics of the Sunday look last night so I’ll be sharing it in a post tomorrow.
