Keeping things short and sweet today with this simple workday outfit! It’s not casual, per se, but the simplicity of this look makes it a more casual option for the office. This is now the third or fourth time I’ve tried photographing this outfit (I shared it in my weekly recap two Sundays ago), and I finally got some pics I can live with yesterday. I’ve been much better the last several months about not obsessing over my photos, but every now and again I still have to wrestle with my inner perfectionist.

Along with the bow shoes from last week’s post, I was recently sent these leopard wedges from Vivaia to share on my Instagram, and I figured I would post the outfit on the blog, too! Unfortunately, I was a dummy and decided to wear these shoes out of the house, only realizing after the fact that they are much too small. Shoes are the worst like that! You can never really tell if they fit properly or if they’re going to be comfortable until you wear them for a day, at which point it’s too late to return them. I love these leopard heels and am sad I didn’t exchange them when I had the chance… But now perhaps some lucky gal (with very small feet) can win them in a giveaway!

My initial thought was to pair a brown sweater with these shoes, but when I was staring at the sweater shelf in my closet, I felt drawn to this light blue piece instead. My mom and I both got this sweater the last time we were driving through Salt Lake City, Utah—there is a Sundance Outlet there that we always stop at when in town. I paired the sweater with dark wash, cropped flared jeans for work. While our company policy is very business casual, I’m still picky about the jeans I wear to the office. This nearly black, non-ripped pair feels much more professional than a lighter wash option, and the cropped length perfectly highlights the heels.

I topped the look off with a few accessories—a brooch that belonged to my grandma, pearl earrings that belonged to my other grandma, big tortoise sunglasses, and a patent leather bag from an antique mall. I also swiped on some coral lipstick for a pop of color. I really love this outfit in person, but I feel like it might not photograph as well. What do you think? Either way, it’s a chic yet simple look perfect for those lazy Monday mornings before the start of the work week.

Would you wear this outfit? What’s your go-to workwear look for days when you don’t want to get out of bed? In the winter, I always gravitate toward a sweater and jeans, and this is just a slightly elevated version of that!

Miles of smiles,

Grace
