After the hecticness of last weekend, this week was much more manageable. I’m still clawing my way out of a heap of blog work but made good progress, and I’m feeling much more relaxed going into the week ahead (a week of dog sitting!). I had Friday off work—such a treat—and worked from home on Tuesday, so I don’t have that many outfits to share today. Hopefully next week I’ll put a little more effort into my looks. As much as I love fashion, even I don’t feel like getting dressed sometimes!

Today was the first time I went into the office in nearly two weeks! It felt good to be back. I love having the option to work from home, but I like the social aspect and productivity I feel when I go in. I knew I had to take my Thrifty Six photos after work, but I decided the teal faux fur jacket from Monday’s look was too flashy for the office. I just swapped it for my denim jacket so that changing for photos in the evening would be easier. It’s a pretty boring outfit!

I worked from home today because I was supposed to have a doctor’s appointment this morning… but when I called Monday afternoon to confirm my appointment, I received a message that the entire practice had shut down permanently! And nobody told me! Very strange and frustrating. I decided to work from home anyway because I had already gotten excited about spending the commute time sleeping in, ha. My boyfriend and I got lunch together, which was a fun break to the work day, and I broke out my new Vivaia heels for the first time. I felt so chic and corporate in this outfit!

Wednesday, March 22

Since I hardly left the house yesterday, I just wore the same dress and heels combo to work. Only a few of us go into the office regularly, but Wednesdays are always more fun because lots of people show up in-person for our weekly staff meetings. My boyfriend came over to my place in the evening and I made us Sloppy Joes for dinner—I’m still going strong with my “cook a real meal once a week” goal from the beginning of the year.

All of a sudden I had a ton of tasks to do at work today, which was really fun—I much prefer being busy than bored when I’m in the office. Afterwards, I made my way across town to get my hair cut for the first time since I chopped it all off and dyed it my first week in Scotland. Unfortunately it wasn’t the best experience, but I love the light layers the stylist gave me, and the ends feel much better now.

I love this pink and green combo and have worn it several times, though neither the color of the pants nor the sweater show up very well in photos. I added this jade statement necklace that a friend thrifted for me to pull in more green. I know, I know, statement necklaces are not cool anymore… But maybe if I keep wearing them, they’ll come back in style? I think this look would have been better with taupe booties but I opted for comfy black ones instead.

Friday, March 24

I had today off work! I’m technically employed by a university, and they decided to give all faculty and staff the day off because of spring break (not really sure why, but I’m not complaining!). I slept in, lounged in bed for a few hours, and did pretty much nothing productive aside from taking a batch of blog photos and posting this outfit. It felt so nice to relax… My vacation in Puerto Rico was amazing, but I was SO busy last weekend playing catchup.

In the evening, I put on this cute outfit to meet up with an old friend from Boise who was visiting Denver. We and all his friends went to Urban Putt downtown, which is a bar and indoor mini golf course. The course was really cool, but I would not recommend going on a weekend… The place was insane and SO hot inside. I look forward to going back for one of their weekday happy hour specials instead.

Another day of pretty much doing nothing, which is so unlike me! I started dog/house sitting for my aunt in the afternoon, so I took the sweet pup for a walk and spent the evening watching the new season of “Outer Banks”.

This neon green, velour tracksuit is kind of atrocious. My friend bought it first in pink, and then she convinced our other friend and me to buy the same suit in different colors so we can all match. I look like I stepped out of the 90s and should have “juicy” plastered across my ass, but I have to admit this set is very comfy… I even bought the matching tube top… I hate how much I secretly like it. I would never wear it in public, though! At least, that’s what I tell myself…

Sunday, March 26

I lounged about my aunt’s house all morning in the same gaudy set and made a huge batch of pancakes for lunch. Otherwise, I’ve just been knocking off a few to-do list items before my boyfriend comes over in the evening to hang with the pup.

. . . . .

I wonder what I did before I bought my brown claw clip from H&M on my last day in Glasgow. I was in the store looking for a black going-out top to wear to my sister-in-law’s bachelorette party, and on a whim, I decided to toss a claw clip in as well after seeing it in one of those bins at checkout. I wear it every day. And I rarely do anything to my hair anymore except throwing it up in the clip. As if I didn’t care much about my hair before, this little accessory has enabled me to never put any effort in at all. Guess I should invest in a few more.

Not that there’s many options to choose from, but which outfit from this week is your favorite? Do you think the neon tracksuit is absolutely horrendous? I wouldn’t blame you. As always, thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a great rest of your Sunday.

Miles of smiles,

Grace

  1. While I can’t say I love the neon color I do love the comfort of a track suit… though I haven’t owned one in a while, I used to wear them for travel days.

    1. This would be super comfy for a travel day! I just can’t in good conscience wear it in public, haha

    1. Ah, working ahead, I remember when that was a thing! Lol. Good for you for being so on top of things!

  2. No surprise that I love the neon colors. I think wearing it split up would be fabulous for running errands. OR for any kind of festival, because your friends would be able to find you (I’m not joking…that’s why I usually wear a hat).
As for the statement necklace, definitely keep it. I think the rest of the outfit is modern enough that you don’t focus on it. Besides sometimes we get a little too crazy about what is in style and what is out!!

    1. I have been trying to add your email and it won’t work for me, either! So strange. I am chatting with support now to hopefully figure it out.
