For once I can say it was a pretty uneventful week! Didn’t do much of anything the past several days aside from crossing items off my to-do list. If you didn’t know, I don’t have my ears pierced… and I finally spent some time on Saturday converting a collection of earrings I have into clip-ons, including the super cute gold faces I’m wearing above that my mom got me for Christmas. Aren’t they adorable? I’m excited to wear all my “new” earrings now, but I’m a little nervous to find out if the clip-on converters I bought will hurt my ears like most clip-ons do… I’m not holding out hope.

I bundled up for the 3 degree temp today… brrr. Wearing a black sweater, houndstooth pants, a chunky scarf, and a cobalt blue peacoat to add something bright and happy to an otherwise dreary day. Lots of my coworkers and native friends have been saying this is the worst winter they can remember in Denver’s history in terms of the cold and lack of sunshine, and all sorts of records have been broken for the longest amount of time snow has stayed on the ground. If I had a dollar for every person I know (including myself) who has slipped on the ice…

My mom bought me this sweater and top from Cabi my freshman year of college. As you can tell, the sweater is very cropped, but it’s meant to be worn over the floral blouse… almost like a babydoll cut. I thought I would try pairing the duo with my olive green pants today, which I had never done before. I thought the look was cute, but now I question if the cropped sweater is appropriate for work (even with something underneath it).

I love these grey windowpane trousers and wish they fit me better! They’re too loose in my natural waist, so I can only wear them with tops that cover the belt area and awkward bunching. Regardless, I thought this teal and grey combo was cute, and one of my coworkers commented on how much she loved my hair styled like this.

I always get compliments when I wear this brown plaid dress, and today I decided to pair it with patterned tights and my beige moto jacket. Thankfully the weather warmed up a bit!

Nobody else was going in to the office today so I worked from home, hence the less-than-professional outfit. I submitted a big project that I was stressing about the whole week, which was the perfect way to enter the weekend! In the evening, my boyfriend and I went on an impromptu sushi date night, walking to a restaurant near his apartment. I thought this floral top and leather jacket were the perfect combo for a casual Friday night dinner.

My boyfriend and I spent the day running errands together, and then I helped him build some new furniture he ordered online. It was so much to put the pieces together—like Legos for grown-ups!
I’m not usually one for spending money on cute activewear but thought this lime green tank and the teal leggings were a fun combo. I don’t keep track of cost per wear for non-fashion items (e.g. workout clothes, pajamas), so all I have listed below for this outfit is where the pieces were purchased. The Adidas jacket is so old that I have no idea when I got it or where it came from.

I tried to be productive today but things were just not working out in my favor… Decided to give up and my boyfriend and I watched a movie in the evening instead—Triangle of Sadness, which was nominated for Best Picture this year. It was SO weird! Comment below if you’ve seen it and let me know your thoughts.
I don’t love the way these sneakers look with the cropped jeans but was too lazy to put together something else. I’m trying to be a little trendier—wearing the looser and lighter colored denim styles instead of skinny jeans—but straight leg and cropped flared jeans just do not look good with certain shoes. Skinnies would have been so much cuter with these fun sneakers.

. . . . .
Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? Did you do anything fun over the weekend? Hope you’ve been having a great Monday.
