I’m excited for today’s weekly recap! For one, I actually got dressed every day this week—which rarely happens—so I have lots of outfits to share. And two, I tried several combos that I’ve never worn before, some that worked and some that didn’t. Regardless, it’s always so fun to discover new ways to style old pieces.
Monday, January 9
I had a productive day at the office and then came home to work on the scrapbook I’ve been making for my aunt. I’ve never worn this cardigan and dress together before, and while it seems cute in theory, I thought it felt and looked a little frumpy. I think the cardigan needs a tighter top underneath since it is so baggy.
Brown Patterned Dress: Charming Charlie, $40 ($1.90 per wear), last worn here | Cardigan: Gift, $30 ($0.79 per wear), last worn here | Purple Socks: DSW, $12 ($1.20 per wear), last worn here | Black Boots: Clarks via DSW, $100 ($0.80 per wear), last worn here

I read recently that bold, bright colors are going to be very trendy in the upcoming season, so I felt inspired to break out my cobalt blue peacoat—the first thing I ever purchased from Francesca’s. I wore it over this printed shift dress and threw on my blue flats with black pom pom shoe clips for a fun touch.
Patterned Dress: Nordstrom Rack, $40 ($2.50 per wear), last worn here | Blue Coat: Francesca’s, $40 ($1.90 per wear), last worn here | Blue Flats: Circus by Sam Edelman via DSW, $5 ($0.21 per wear), last worn here

I really wanted to break in this scarf today, as it was a Christmas gift from my boyfriend’s mom! I was feeling rather lazy though and just threw on these old bootcut jeans, but I think the top/vest/scarf combo would look really cute with a skirt for something a little more dressed up.
Polka Dot Top: Loft, $20 ($1.82 per wear), last worn here | Maroon Vest: Francesca’s, $45 ($1.25 per wear), last worn here | Jeans: Levi’s via JCPenney, $40 ($0.95 per wear), last worn here | Leopard Rain Booties: Ralph Lauren via Macy’s, $60 ($0.87 per wear), last worn here | Printed Scarf: Gift
Thursday, January 12
It was a pretty chill day at work before I met up with my boyfriend and one of his friends for last minute drinks. I hadn’t worn this purple sparkly sweater with my indigo fur vest before, but I liked the color combo a lot! I wish it showed up a little better in this pic. I scored lots of compliments on the vest at work, but I’m pretty sure my boyfriend hated it, lol.
Purple Sweater: Hand-me-down, last worn here | Fur Vest: Gift, $15 ($2.50 per wear), last worn here | Grey Jeans: Express, $19 ($0.41 per wear), last worn here | Black Booties: Vivaia, gifted by brand, last worn here
Friday, January 13
Friday the 13th—spooky. I went to the office late and worked late so that I could meet up with my friends straight from there instead of driving back and forth across town. I usually wear this maroon embroidered sweater with jeans and haven’t been very creative putting together outfits with it… but I realized the other day that I should try it with this leather skirt, and I absolutely love how it turned out! The matching maroon socks really pull it all together.
Maroon Sweater: Francesca’s, $45 ($1.96 per wear), last worn here | Black Leather Skirt: Scout and Molly Boutique, $105 ($8.08 per wear), last worn here | Black Booties: Vivaia, gifted by brand, last worn here
I changed and did my makeup in the bathroom at work, which was an experience. Not sure the day-to-night transition was quite as glamorous as it seems in the movies… I’ve been feeling really inspired to wear crazy eye shadow colors lately (I think mainly because of Portia’s character in season 2 of “The White Lotus”), so I rocked a glittery purple liquid eye shadow to dinner (not pictured). I really liked how it turned out but it was so difficult to apply—I think maybe it had already dried out, even though I’ve only worn it once before… boo.
I thrifted the red crop top and have also only worn it once, on the 4th of July with denim shorts, but it looked just as cute with a leather jacket thrown on top. One of my girlfriends got engaged on New Year’s Day, so it was a blast for our little group to finally get together over dinner and hear all the details!
Red Crop Top: Thrifted, $13 ($6.50 per wear) | Pleather Jacket: Blank NYC via local boutique, $25 ($0.52 per wear), last worn here | Cropped Flared Jeans: Express, $40 ($1.05 per wear), last worn here | Black Booties: Vivaia, gifted by brand, last worn here | Black Fringe Purse: Gift, $50 ($2.94 per wear), last worn here
Saturday, January 14
I slept in and then spent the day tackling a very long to-do list… It was so nice outside though—60 degrees!—and it made me SO excited for spring. Now that the holidays are over, I want it to be 60 and sunny every day… no more snow.
I rarely ever wear this open cardigan because I never know what to pair it with, but I love how cute it looks with this white crop top! I will definitely be wearing this outfit again—although I wasn’t sold on the shoes, the black seems a little harsh for the rest of the look.
White Crop Top: American Eagle, $8 ($1.60 per wear), last worn here | Diamond Cardigan: JCPenney, $18 ($1.50 per wear), last worn here | Cropped Flared Jeans: Express, $40 ($1.05 per wear), last worn here | Black Booties: Vivaia, gifted by brand, last worn here
Sunday, January 15
I picked up my friend this morning, who flew into town for the week, and we spent a lazy day together getting brunch and chilling in my apartment. She brought me the most amazing pants back from her trip to India and I can’t wait to wear them come spring/summer time! I will definitely be packing them for my vacation to Puerto Rico in March.
Argyle Sweater: Gift, last worn here | Cropped Flared Jeans: Express, $40 ($1.05 per wear), last worn here | Brown Booties: Express, $23 ($2.88 per wear), last worn here
. . . . .
Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? I’m having a hard time choosing, I really liked Friday’s through Sunday’s! As always, thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a great rest of your day.
Miles of smiles,
Grace
I agree with Friday through Sunday’s outfits: they are so cute! I have a couple crop top that are kind of boxy so I tend to wear them with high waisted pants and skirts. I wonder if I would like something more fitted and then not mind baring a little belly. You look amazing in these and I also really like Tuesday’s outfit too! Well done!

Thanks Mireille! I rarely ever wear a crop top without high-waisted pants – I love the coverage and just showing that little sliver of skin instead of my whole stomach.
