Happy holidays! I hope you’ve all survived the nightmarish traveling conditions of the past week… Boy, am I grateful that I came out to Boise so early. I’m not sure I’ll be as lucky on the return trip, though! I’m supposed to head back to Denver on Southwest this Friday so… wish me luck. Otherwise, last week consisted of remote work, lots of games, binging the most recent season of “The Handmaid’s Tale”, and quality family time. Another great Christmas in the books.

I probably wouldn’t have gotten dressed today at all if it weren’t for my dentist appointment, but I threw on this almost-monochromatic ensemble for the outing and a day of working from home. My dad and I watched “The Handmaid’s Tale” together during the initial Covid quarantine, so we were excited to finally start binging the fifth season together.

Rocking the plaid pants for Christmas week! I’ve had these pants for years but hardly ever wear the pair—I never know how to style them. What could I wear on top aside from black? I have a white button-down, but then I’m worried I’ll look like I’m a Catholic school student… maybe an oversized white or crème sweater is the move (I just don’t own one of those). Sooo a simple black and red look it is.
My parents and I went to mass this morning at our local chapel, followed by hot cocoas at a nearby coffee shop. Otherwise it was just more of the same today, work and “The Handmaid’s Tale”!

Today I actually never got dressed… My grandpa flew into town in the morning for Christmas so we got to play some Euchre with him in the afternoon. My dad and I finished our show in the evening, and then we forced ourselves to stay up so that we could pick up my brother and sister-in-law later that night. Well, of course their flight was delayed due to the storm, so we didn’t get to bed until 2 am!

After work today, my sister-in-law and I went to get our nails done together! I never go to the nail salon, so it was a fun change of pace. We spent the evening getting ready and then headed off to a Christmas party to which we scored a last-minute invite, which was an absolute blast. I’m so glad I packed this thrifted red dress! Tonight was its maiden voyage, and I received several compliments on the big red bow (I *am* the present). I actually ran into some people from high school at the party who invited me out for drinks downtown after the party—overall a super fun night. I’ve always dreamt of going to a Christmas party and somehow I got to attend two this year! Who am I?!

Thank goodness I finally made it through the work week! Some of us played Settlers of Catan in the afternoon, I finally added my ornaments to the Christmas tree, and then we watched The Revenant as a family. I haven’t worn this outfit before, but I love how it turned out! The lavender bodysuit and blue earmuffs look super cute together.

It was a perfectly lazy Christmas Eve filled with sledding, games, and a delicious dinner. I basically wore PJs all day but dug out this onesie ski suit from the 80s to play in the snow. I actually kind of dig it, though I wish it was more colorful.

Ah, Christmas morn. We slept in, ate breakfast, opened presents, and then opened our stockings. We all just kind of lounged about for most of the day and then had a big family dinner. I’ve never really been one to get dressed on Christmas, let alone to dress up (we never leave the house), but I decided to throw on this old-fashioned dress with a pearl belt and very sparkly headband. I’m rocking my new Fitbit in this pic, and you can see some of my vintage Barbie ornaments on the tree in the background! After dinner, we watched an unsettling, violent Christmas movie where Santa was shot in the head… very strange and traumatizing indeed.

Which of this week’s outfits was your favorite? Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you had a great holiday with your loved ones.
Miles of smiles,

Your Christmas outfit is so cute! I really like the pearl accessories! We always dress up for Christmas day, even if, like this year, we didn’t get the chance to go to church.
Sounds like a fun Christmas week too – even if the weather makes travel tricky I really like the snow photos! It never snows here!
Thanks Mica! I think it’s fun you always dress up – I think I should get into that habit. Happy new year!
