Sheesh, how is it Saturday already?? I made it back to Boise last Sunday and suddenly lost all track of time. It still hasn’t sunk in for me yet that it’s not entirely accurate to say Idaho is my “home” anymore. I live in Denver now! Full-time, not just for college, but I still catch myself saying things like, “Oh yah, I live in Boise”. I wonder at what point Colorado will feel more like home than Idaho… I told my coworkers the other day how Boise has a New Year’s Eve “potato drop” instead of a “ball drop” and they thought that was hilarious. You can check out the infamous tater drop here if you don’t believe it exists…

After a busy day at work, my boyfriend and I met up in downtown Denver to go to the Christkindl Market, which is a European-style Christmas market at Civic Center Park! Since my university was on the quarter system, I always took my last finals before Thanksgiving and then went back to Boise for a six-week break… which means I’ve never been in Denver in December. I had a fun time looking up holiday activities in the area and the Christkindl market did not disappoint. They had delicious traditional food, stands with cute little gifts and snacks, and a huge electronic Christmas tree that you could walk through. I tried the Glühwein (pronounced “gloo-vine”), which is hot, spiced wine from Germany. I really liked it—kind of like a warm sangria. All-in-all, the market was a really fun date activity, and I recommend checking it out next holiday season if you’ve never been. You can get a glimpse from the event in this reel I made!
I really liked today’s outfit—the dark green pants, polka dots, and faux leather, but I think it’s too dark. It needs a little pop of color, like a red lipstick and brighter boots.

It was very cold today and I was feeling lazy… so I just threw on a simple sweater and jeans. I somehow completely forgot I own these grey mom jeans from Express—the last time I wore them was on the plane ride back from Scotland the first week of May! I was excited to break them out again today. After work, I went over to my aunt’s house for a yummy taco Tuesday meal before the busy holidays.

It was tough to get through work this week—I really felt like I was in grade school again with all that excitement and restlessness before the holiday break. I don’t love the black jeans with this outfit but thought it was otherwise super cute, especially with this new embroidered headband that my aunt got me for Christmas! I absolutely love it and got tons of compliments at work.

Another new outfit for me—I actually really liked the mustard, brown, and purple together! An odd color combo but I think it worked. I’ve followed Blair Eadie for years, and while her outfits are crazy (awesome) and not practical at all, she is the absolute queen of unique color combos! I love following her for inspiration.

This was another new outfit pairing and one I think I’ll wear again! I love this printed Cabi jacket, but I never know what to style with it… The olive green pants seemed like a good move. I’ve had these pants—and the purple ones from Thursday’s outfit—since freshman year of high school. My mom bought them for me because the school’s dress code prohibited blue jeans, but I absolutely hated them and never wore either pair. They were so loose fitting and everyone else wore skinny pants, which of course I wanted to wear too. Funny thing is that now the straight-leg jeans are all the rage, and I absolutely love these pants! So glad I decided to keep them all these years. Also my bottom half has definitely gotten bigger, which probably helped make the pants more flattering, lol.

I had a busy day running around trying to pack and get everything in order before leaving for two weeks. My boyfriend and I spent the evening baking Christmas cookies and decorating them while watching Love Actually, which he had never seen before. The perfect holiday vibes!
I don’t love the black boots with this outfit, but I wanted to bring my Vivaia booties on my trip and didn’t want to pack them. I scored a few compliments on my Mickey Mouse-esque beanie, though.

My boyfriend took me to the airport bright and early so that I could fly home to Boise for my dad’s birthday! Once I landed, my dad and I went on a walk around the neighborhood with Limosas in our hands—my dad’s new faux-mimosa creation, which is a mix of prosecco and limeade instead of orange juice. It’s pretty good, you should give it a try! In the evening, we went to my dad’s favorite Puerto Rican restaurant in town and then watched him open presents. I just wore the same outfit from yesterday.

Which of these looks was your favorite? I think I like Friday’s outfit the best! Thanks for swinging by the blog today, and I hope you’re having a wonderful holiday weekend so far.
Miles of smiles,
Grace
