Oof, it’s been a while since I missed so many blog posts! Usually I’m at least good about getting my weekly recaps up, but the last two weeks have been jam-packed… from going to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving, flying back to Denver for a few days, and then making my way to Nashville for a week. I just got home yesterday but will be flying out again to Boise a week from today! Busy busy travel season. Anyway, here are a handful of rather lackluster outfits—I’ve just been throwing on sweaters and jeans lately as a means of getting out the door, rather than putting my usual effort into getting dressed.
Monday, November 28
I started the week still in Las Vegas with my boyfriend celebrating Thanksgiving, and we flew home this afternoon. I just threw on this bulky sweater and some denim for a rather long travel day. I don’t love the short boots with the cropped pants, but eh, who cares when you’re on a plane? I can’t say traveling on a Monday night was the best way to start the week—especially because my checked luggage was returned to me broken—but we had a good laugh about it after getting home and puttin’ some food in our stomachs, lol.

I ended up working from home again today just so I could sleep in a little instead of spending that time commuting to the office. It’s hard for me to find the motivation to wear a really cute outfit when I’m just sitting at home all day, so all I threw on was this sweater and old jeans from Bohme. Remember when the tuxedo stripe trend was all the rage a few years back?
After work, my friend and I had a virtual cooking date, which was her birthday present to me. She sent me some kitchen supplies and spice packets for three different recipes, including a curry dish, a spicy chickpea side, and molten lava cake for dessert. We spent the whole night cooking “with each other” (we video called and I propped my computer up on the counter), and it was SO much fun! Such a unique gift idea, and the food turned out absolutely delicious.

Wednesday, November 30
It was quite the eventful day. Not only was I busy at work, but I also received word in the late afternoon that a high-speed car chase concluded at my apartment building, with suspects running around on foot and being chased by the police. Apparently, there were over 40 cop cars and several helicopters surrounding my complex!
I missed all that excitement though because I went straight to the children’s hospital after work to volunteer for Make-A-Wish. I’ve been wanting to get more involved with the organization for a while now but just haven’t found enough time to properly dedicate myself to being a wish granter yet. Today’s event was a good one-off activity to get my foot in the door! Every year, Make-A-Wish Colorado hosts a gift store where children in the hospital can go to pick out wrapped presents for their family members for the holiday season. My job was to help set up all the presents into displays—it was insane how many toys they had. I wasn’t able to volunteer for the actual event, which took place on Friday and Saturday, but it sounded like so much fun! Hopefully next year.
I wanted to wear something comfy because I knew I would be lifting stuff, so this navy and white sweater and vest combo, with white sneakers, was the perfect choice.

Thursday, December 1
How is it December already?? It was another busy day at work, and then my boyfriend and I met up to go mini golfing at Adventure Golf and Raceway in Westminster. It’s an outdoor venue that they decorated with Christmas lights, and it was SO much fun! Hardly anyone was there, the lights were beautiful, and it was such a steal compared to other Christmas light displays. Not to mention, my boyfriend isn’t that into just looking at the lights, so I think he enjoyed it a lot more that we were doing something other than just walking/driving around. I highly recommend this fun holiday activity if you’re in the Denver area!
As for my outfit, I was sent these new black booties as part of a collaboration with the brand VIVAIA. I wanted to make sure to test and wear them a lot before posting about the shoes, hence today’s outfit. I don’t love the dark boots with the dark denim, but I do really like the higher shaft height of the boots—perfect for my collection of cropped flared jeans.

Friday, December 2
I worked from home again today because nobody else was planning on going into the office. I had wanted to check out a Christmas market downtown tonight with the boy, but I got stuck in such bad traffic that the timing didn’t make sense anymore. Instead, I picked us up some eggnog and alcohol and we played a Hallmark Christmas movie drinking game while watching the new Netflix film, Falling for Christmas. It was, expectedly, a terrible movie but kind of a fun activity for watching cheesy Christmas films. We just looked up rules online—things like: take a drink whenever you see a balsam Christmas tree, whenever two strangers bump into each other, whenever two people almost kiss, etc.
Saturday, December 3
My boyfriend and I had a slow morning before heading to the airport to fly to Nashville! He works entirely remotely for a company that is based there, and he invited me to join him for a work trip to attend the company holiday party. An excuse to wear a sparkly Christmas dress?? Of course I said yes! We arrived in Nashville in the evening, checked into our hotel, and then walked to dinner. We were tired after traveling (second trip in one week!) so we just had a quiet night in our hotel room finishing our newest show, “Fleabag”. I just wore the same outfit as yesterday.

Sunday, December 4
We slept in a bit, and then we headed out on a walking tour throughout the city, as it was my first time in Nashville. We started by going to the Parthenon, which is the art museum in town and is apparently an exact replica of the famous ruins in Athens. We then wandered around Vanderbilt’s campus for a bit, made our way to the famous Broadway Street, stopped for lunch and to listen to live music, and then snapped some pics on the Pedestrian Bridge. We spent the evening watching the Chargers football game at a bar and grabbing dinner near our hotel afterwards.
This wasn’t an outfit I had originally planned to wear, but I knew we would be walking around a lot—and it was a little chilly—so I wanted something comfortable. I didn’t end up loving the combo of this sweater and jeans, though! Everything just felt really bulky, and I looked short in all the pics. Although, when I was compiling the cost per wear info for this outfit, I realized I wore this sweater and jeans combo in my western-inspired blog post and loved that look—so maybe the scarf is actually the problem in today’s outfit?

. . . . .
Do you have a favorite out of this week’s more casual looks? Thanks for hanging in there with me during my little unplanned blogging hiatus of the past two weeks. Hope you’ve been having a great start to December so far.
Miles of smiles,
Grace
I actually really like that last outfit of yours! Cool idea to do a virtual cooking date. It would be something fun for my friend from France and I to do if we could figure out a time with the time zones.

Ooh yah… it would be difficult with such different timezones! Maybe one of you could cook breakfast and the other dinner, haha.
