This week went by really slowly but in the best sort of way… such a nice change of pace when it feels like the fall has been passing in the blink of an eye. I really liked all my outfits this week (you don’t hear that very often!) and tried to break out some of my more expensive and less worn items to lower their cost per wear. Without realizing it, I think I styled every Cabi piece of clothing I own!

My mom sent me this top and sweater, along with a plaid skirt, my freshman year of college. I remember so distinctly pulling the sweater out of the box and my roommate and I looking at each other, thinking, Where’s the rest of it? It’s so cropped! My mom then explained that the Cabi model was shown wearing the cropped sweater over this floral tank top. It’s an odd look but kind of cute! Although my boyfriend said it looked like I was wearing a skirt over jeans and that brought back some dark memories from the early 2000s (who ever thought jeans underneath a skirt was okay?!).

As one of my coworkers said, my outfit was giving “biker chick” vibes today. No doubt about it that it’s fall now—it is a very brisk walk into my office building every morning, and my turtleneck and jacket were not enough layers. After work, I met up with a friend at my alma mater to grab dinner and go thrift shopping for Halloween costume necessities. We ate on one of the greens of campus, and the fall colors were so beautiful… As much as I love the stage of life I’m in right now, it really made me miss college.

After we parted, I drove home and went to bed at 8pm! I can’t remember the last time I slept so early… it felt amazing.

Grey Turtleneck: Bohme, $30 ($1.43 per wear), last worn here | Black Pleather Jacket: JCPenney, $62 ($1.17 per wear), last worn here | Skinny Jeans: Express, $42 ($0.86 per wear), last worn here | Black Booties: DSW, $45 ($0.65 per wear), last worn here

I love this Cabi blazer but don’t wear it nearly often enough (it has a geometric pattern with little flecks of green and pink). I wore my dangly green clip-on earrings and thew on orange flats for a pop of color. After work today, the boy came over and we watched a few episodes of “The Midnight Club”, our new show that now we finally finished “Yellowstone”.

White Blouse: Thrifted, $12 ($4.00 per wear), last worn here | Printed Jacket: Cabi, $40 ($8.00 per wear) | Black Pants: Express, $42 ($1.56 per wear), last worn here | Orange Flats: DSW, $13 ($0.81 per wear), last worn here

How stinking cute is this work outfit?? I tried a few variations of blouses and wasn’t sold on the green leopard top initially, but I really liked the look by the end of the day. They’re refinishing the outside of my apartment, so my windows have been covered in a plastic film for days, hence the discoloration in this pic.

After work, I went straight to my boyfriend’s apartment so we could watch the football game together. I drove back to my place as soon as it was over and cleaned my apartment in preparation for my guests—my brother and sister-in-law were flying in for just two nights! They didn’t get to my place until midnight and I was having a very tough time staying awake waiting for them… so naturally, I started listening to Taylor Swift’s new album—because what else would one do at midnight on October 20th?! None of the songs have really stood out to me so far, but it usually takes time for me to like new music.

Once my brother and SIL arrived, we ended up staying awake ‘til 1:30 chatting!! It was so much fun and just like a high school slumber party (especially because there were three of us in my studio apartment).

Leopard Blouse: Cabi, $89 ($7.42 per wear), last worn here | Grey Blazer: JCPenney, $35 ($2.69 per wear), last worn here | Black Leather Skirt: Scout and Molly’s Boutique, $105 ($8.75 per wear), last worn here | Black Heels: DSW, $40 ($3.64 per wear), last worn here

My brother and sister-in-law left for the day very early this morning, and as much as I wanted to go back to sleep, I decided to start my work day early, too (just working from home). I also made some lemon bars in the afternoon, my brother’s favorite. The two of them didn’t get back to my apartment until late, but I had dinner prepared for when they arrived. We had a great time chatting and playing card games late into the night.

Lime Green Collared Shirt: JCPenney, $20 ($2.00 per wear), last worn here | Cropped Flared Jeans: Express, $25 ($1.25 per wear), last worn here | Flats: JCrew, $20 ($1.67 per wear), last worn here

I slept in (my brother and SIL had to leave at 3am to catch their flight!), cleaned my apartment, and then headed over to my aunt’s house to dog and housesit for the week. The boy came over to join me as I walked the doggo, and then we met up with some friends for dinner and a movie. We saw Decision to Leave, which we all agreed was a little lackluster. I loved my outfit though! Having a little Lavender Haze moment, and I threw my jean jacket over top. My boyfriend hated my shoes though… I could immediately tell he found them tacky from his lack of comment. But to that I say, what’s not to like??

Lavender Bodysuit: Macy’s, $10 ($3.33 per wear) | Black Corduroy Skirt: Francesca’s, $35 ($0.97 per wear), last worn here | Grey Fluffy Sneakers: Thrifted, $20 ($5.00 per wear), last worn here

Sunday, October 23

I had a slow morning, walking the pup and working on my Halloween costume. I met up with my boyfriend at a sports bar in the afternoon to watch the Chargers game, which is his favorite team. Originally I just threw on a t-shirt and old jeans for a super casual Sunday, but instead I decided to dress up a little more—a nicer t-shirt with trendier jeans, lol. I ended up throwing on my olive green utility jacket over top because it got a little stormy in the afternoon.

Floral Tee: JCPenney, $18 ($0.69 per wear), last worn here | Straight Leg Jeans: Express, $15 ($5.00 per wear), last worn here | Blush Sneakers: Steve Madden via DSW, $60 ($0.51 per wear), last worn here

. . . . .

Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? Hope you had a relaxing weekend, and thanks for stopping by.

Miles of smiles,
Grace

  1. I am loving that Thursday outfit! I have really cleaned up my closet so this week, I am wearing the things that I have been on the fence for a while to see whether I really want to keep them. Mostly it’s two popover tops that I like better on the hanger than on me. I can see why you liked all of your outfits this week, there is some nice variety and some cool pieces.

    1. Thank you, Mireille! That’s smart to wear the pieces you’re iffy about to see if you want to keep them or not. I should probably go through my closet too… there are pieces I never wear but still kinda like, and I have such a hard time getting rid of those!
