Fall weather has officially arrived here in Denver! I’m excited to be breaking out all the sweaters, booties, and even tights in this week’s outfits. I really need to get back into the habit of bringing a coat with me when I leave my apartment, though, because I keep leaving without one and then regret it during my walk into work. While I’m really looking forward to autumn, I’m clearly still in a warm weather mindset when it comes to getting dressed.

I worked from home today and then decided to go for a run for the first time in way too long. To quote John Mellencamp, it “hurt so good”. I’ve never been the type of person who looks cute when working out (just throwing on an old t-shirt and hand-me-down shorts) but I decided to put a little effort in today. I love this green top with my teal Joy Lab leggings from Target! I don’t keep track of cost per wear for workout clothes, though, so no details for this outfit (but the top is from Aerie).

I love how this outfit turned out, but I decided I definitely cannot wear this skirt to work again (too short!). I think the floral print with the pleather jacket is a fun juxtaposition though, and I love my new(ish) sheer tights with the look. I’ve only ever worn opaque tights, which seem far less stylish.
My boyfriend came over to my place after work today and we did our usual routine of dinner and watching “Yellowstone”.

This outfit really needed an extra something to spice it up—it’s far too boring as-is. I decided about halfway through the day that I think a scarf would have done the trick. Regardless, I love the beige and olive green together for fall. I’ve had these pants for forever and hated wearing them in high school because they’re looser fitting, but now straight-legs are all the rage! I paired the look with gorgeous magenta, velvet flats with embroidered straps, which I got at the Sundance Outlet in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bummer that you can’t see the beautiful color in this photo, but they look so pretty in direct light.
After work today, my boyfriend and I went to a bar near his apartment to do a golf simulator, which was my first time doing that. It was really fun, but I definitely prefer a real golfing range (which happened to be closed today).

I’ve worn this buffalo check top and green pants combo before, and I loved the addition of the velvet flats—they stand out much better in today’s outfit than in Wednesday’s because of the shorter hem of the pants. I also threw on a magenta headband to match. After work, I ran some errands before meeting up with my boyfriend and two other couples, who are friends of mine, for a pumpkin carving party. It was so much fun and such a great way to kick off the spooky season!

I spent way too long this morning trying to tie a green and brown hair scarf into my half-up ‘do before finally giving up. I still think this outfit needs something else, but the leopard-heeled booties were a fun touch. After work today, I spent some time at my aunt’s house playing games and eating dinner with some family who are visiting from out of town.

I woke up early to join my family on a hike to Lookout Mountain outside of Golden, Colorado, which is featured in the first pic of today’s post. It wasn’t quite the fall hike I was hoping for, as all the trees were coniferous, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Later in the evening, we ate dinner together and ended up playing Cards Against Humanity—you know it’s a weird time when you play that game with family members.

Sunday, October 9
I really needed today to recover after a long week, so I slept in really late, took a bath, and then watched a little football with my boyfriend. I swung over to my aunt’s house to meet my uncle’s new puppy, which is the sweetest little thing I ever did see! She’s so teeny—a toy Golden Doodle.
. . . . .
I hope you had a great week! Thanks for stopping by today, and let me know which outfit is your favorite in the comments below (even though this week’s looks are a little lackluster).
Miles of smiles,
Grace
Thursday’s outfit is really cool. The velvet ballerinas are so gorgeous. <3
Thank you, Frieda!
