Sharing a sneak peak of my apartment décor today! The rest of my Command strips finally arrived this week, so I spent a lot of time hanging decorations on my wall—the apartment is nearly complete now. I can’t wait to share a full tour on the blog in the coming weeks. As for my OOTDs, I wore lots of thrifted items over the past few days and am overall very pleased with the looks I put together. I was just updating my cost per wear spreadsheet, and I’m thinking that one of these weeks I should challenge myself to wear only items that have higher costs per wear—could be a fun way to force myself to wear pieces I don’t style as often.

It was the usual slow Monday at work, but I went straight to my aunt’s house afterwards to spend time with my other aunt and uncle, who were in town visiting for a few days. We caught up for a bit and then they joined me at my first soccer game of the season, cheering me on from the sidelines. I love the color scheme of today’s ‘fit—beige, crème, and mustard seem like such a classic combo. I’ve only worn this jacket a handful of times, but it’s always felt very “mom-on-the-go” to me, like something you would see on one of the example mannequins on What Not to Wear.

I really love how today’s outfit turned out! I usually rotate between the same three tops to pair with this blue and orange patterned skirt, but for some reason I thought to pair it with this white wrap-style blouse that my mom handed down to me. The belt really pulls it all together, I think. After work today, my aunt and uncle who are visiting came to see my apartment, and then we and my other extended family went out to eat together.

Since I’m technically employed by a university, and this was the first week back at school, some of my coworkers and I walked over to the school’s block party that they were hosting on campus. We didn’t stay long, but it was fun to escape the office for a bit and get to know one another a little better. After work, my boyfriend came over and we ordered delivery so we could binge three episodes of “1883”. I had been loving the show, but there was one really dumb episode today that made me lose a little respect for it.
I completely forgot the block party was today, otherwise I would have worn more sensible shoes! (These are quite the block heel—my coworkers kept asking if my feet felt okay, but it wasn’t until the end of the day when they started hurting). Hooves aside, I absolutely loved this very professional outfit. My mom’s cousin handed down to me this pencil skirt, which has a matching pinstripe blazer and also trousers. I would have loved to wear the blazer too, but since my office is pretty casual, I figured the whole power suit was a little much. I thrifted the shoes while in Scotland, knowing they were out of my comfort zone. At first I thought they seemed old lady-ish, but after seeing this pic, I think they look more like something a little girl would wear on special occasions, like church shoes. Ha!
Maroon Tie-Neck Blouse: Banana Republic, $30 ($5.00 per wear), last worn here | Pinstripe Skirt: Hand-me-down | Oxblood Shoes: Thrifted, $10 ($10.00 per wear)

I had a rather busy day at work today and decided to stay late because I had double date plans to grab dinner nearby my office. It was such a great evening and really fun to get out on a weeknight—it feels so adult. I decided to wear this pretty geometric dress layered under my black denim jacket, as it turned a little stormy and chilly in the afternoon.
Patterned Dress: Thrifted, $9 ($4.50 per wear), last worn here | Black Denim Jacket: Topshop via Nordstrom, $55 ($2.50 per wear), last worn here | Black Sandals: Dillard’s, $30 ($0.48 per wear), last worn here

I had lots of work tasks to accomplish this week, so the days went by really quickly! I ran home for a bit and then my boyfriend and I went to the university he attended for their first swing club meeting of the semester. It was SO much fun to spend the night swing dancing, and I learned lots of new moves. I absolutely love to dance, so it made me wonder why I’ve never pursued it more seriously! This grey tulle dress was the perfect thing to wear and twirl in—I scored lots of compliments (although the knock-off white Converse I changed into gave me lots of blisters by the end of the night).
Tulle Dress: Boutique in Tacoma, $30 ($7.50 per wear), last worn here | Denim Jacket: JCPenney, $19 ($0.11 per wear), last worn here | White Espadrilles: DSW, $45 ($0.78 per wear), last worn here

My boyfriend and I played tennis this morning, grabbed sushi for lunch, and then attended a birthday party of one of his friends in the evening. I wore this same black top and denim shorts combo that I styled a few weeks back, except tonight, I was really wishing I had brought a jacket! It was the first night I felt fall creeping into the air, and it’s making me so excited for all things autumn.
Black Crop Top: H&M, $15 ($3.75 per wear) | Denim Shorts: JCPenney, $18 ($0.95 per wear), last worn here | White Espadrilles: DSW, $45 ($0.75 per wear), last worn here

The boy and I grabbed brunch and then I spent the rest of the day in my apartment, hanging things on my walls and trying to tidy up a bit before the start of another week.

Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? It’s hard for me to choose because I really liked them all, but I think Wednesday’s professional look might take the cake. What can I say, I’m a sucker for workwear.
As always, thanks for stopping by today!
Miles of smiles,
Grace
