It’s been a slow start this Monday morning, trying to recover from the most relaxing weekend spent in Breckenridge, Colorado. I had never been to the cute mountain town before, so it was fun to go hiking and explore the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. I shared a few pics from the trip below, as well as my usual outfits of the day! Lots of winners this week.

I had a pretty chill day at work today, taking a quick break for another Make-A-Wish volunteer training. I was supposed to have two soccer games tonight for the new league I joined, but it was SO gloomy and stormed all afternoon. The games were rescheduled, which I honestly was not mad about… I rushed home and made my first pie ever, key lime! I was shocked it was so delicious—I really had no complaints, aside from an egg exploding on me while I was making it.

I loved today’s outfit, but since the day turned out to be dark and stormy, it was not well-suited for the rain. I always forget about these white jeans (they fit a little funny in the crotch), but as long as I wear a longer top with them, they’re quite cute. The striped heels were a fun addition.

This is definitely my favorite outfit from the week—I can’t believe I’ve never worn the combo before! It felt so chic and classy. After work today, my boyfriend got us takeout and we ate on my deck, which was so pleasant. My apartment faces west, which is great for afternoon light, but it’s mostly been too hot to eat outside. This was really the first time I enjoyed my little outdoor space.

White Sweater: Bohme, $30 ($3.33 per wear), last worn here | Polka Dot Pants: JCPenney, $19 ($1.36 per wear), last worn here | White Mules: Saks Off Fifth, $70 ($2.06 per wear), last worn here

These jeans look black in the photo, but they’re my dark-wash cropped flares from Express. They paired perfectly with my green leopard top from Cabi—a simple but chic look. After work, I went to my aunt’s house for dinner and to kill the leftover key lime pie.

Leopard Top: Cabi, $89 ($8.09 per wear), last worn here | Dark-Wash Jeans: Express, $25 ($1.56 per wear), last worn here | Black Sandals: DSW, $28 ($0.90 per wear), last worn here

Nobody was heading into the office today or tomorrow, so I just worked from home, hence the less professional outfit. Even though it’s a little young, I thought this look was so fun and flirty! I spent some time today finally hanging a few of my art pieces up on the walls, including the floral painting in the backdrop of today’s pic. In the evening, I went to my boyfriend’s place to play Beat Saber and watch “1883”—have you seen it? We’ve been loving the show so far!

Lavender Bodysuit: Macy’s, $10 ($5.00 per wear) | Floral Skirt: Nordstrom Rack, $10 ($1.00 per wear), last worn here | Black Sandals: DSW, $28 ($0.88 per wear), last worn here

Another chill work-from-home day, after which my boyfriend and I made the hour and a half drive to Breckenridge. We checked into our hotel and then wandered around Main Street, stopping for drinks and dinner. It was such a cute little mountain town! It looked like there was tons of shopping, too, although I didn’t end up stopping in anywhere. Our hotel was up on a hill with a great view, so we spent a little time hot-tubbing in the evening as well, soaking up as much mountain air as possible.

Green Top: JCPenney, $16 ($2.00 per wear), last worn here | Anorak Jacket: JCPenney, $30 ($0.48 per wear), last worn here | Skinny Jeans: Express, $42 ($1.02 per wear), last worn here | Brown Booties: DSW, $35 ($0.28 per wear), last worn here | Circle Purse: Target, $30 ($1.15 per wear), last worn here

Saturday, August 20

We started our day with a beautiful hike, complete with alpine lakes and wildflowers (although we weren’t lucky enough to see a mountain goat). It was just the two of us for most of the hike and so serene! This path is called Blue Lakes Trail, and while there was a lot of rocky climbing involved (not much of a paved trail), I still really recommend it. We both decided we would love to go back and bring a picnic and book to enjoy on one of those grassy outcroppings. I wore this new workout set that I just got on sale from American Eagle. It’s super cute, although it’s very thin and a little see-through, which is a bummer. Perfect for a hike though.

After our hike, we rushed downtown to get massages, which were incredibly relaxing. We got dolled up and then made our way to our dinner reservation at the Blue River Bistro. The food and drinks were delicious, and overall it was a really fun atmosphere. I wore this Jet Noire top for the first time and felt so sassy. I wish I had pulled my pants higher up in this pic though—I hate showing bellybutton.

Sunday, August 21

We woke up a little early to head to the Breckenridge Golf Club, where my boyfriend had a tee time. I decided to tag along and am so glad I did! The holes of this golf course had the most incredible views, and it was really fun to watch everyone play. I don’t know a ton about golf so it was also a good learning experience. We even saw a moose enjoying a drink of water, who later decided to walk right across one of the tee boxes. After golf, we stopped for a quick lunch in the neighboring town of Frisco before making the drive home, which was a lot longer this time due to traffic. It was such a fun, relaxing weekend! And it felt like fall… I got to break out my salmon cardigan and booties for the first time this year.
