Boy, Monday feels like ages ago—I guess that means it’s been a pretty eventful couple of days. I finally got all three blog posts up this week, which feels like such an accomplishment after months of only posting once or twice a week. I also got my new phone a couple of days ago. I spent some time today setting it up, and even though I’m excited for all the extra storage space and the swanky new camera, I do hate that adjustment period of navigating the new layout and screen size. It’ll be fun once I take my first blog photos with it, though! Anyway, I have lots of really cute work outfits to share this week. I’ve really enjoyed rediscovering some of the pieces in my closet that I haven’t worn in ages.

I love how today’s outfit came together! I’m not sure I’ve worn this combination before, the white thrifted tank with this patterned fair trade skirt (which I got at a boutique on Bainbridge Island in Washington). The belt came with a JCPenney dress, but it pairs perfectly with the skirt, as does the little pop of color in my turquoise necklace. Work was pretty slow today, but I ended up going out to dinner with my aunt and her family, followed by a walk around the neighborhood with their cute pup.

I wanted to try dressing down this pretty floral dress that I wore in a blog post a few weeks ago, and I think it looks quite cute with the denim jacket. My nude shoes blend perfectly into the carpet of my bedroom, but aside from that, what do you think of this layout for my OOTDs instead of the mirror photos? The lighting is a little better but still not great.

My phone finally arrived to my aunt’s house today, so I swung by after work and ended up staying for dinner (and a round of Mario Party, of course).

Floral Dress: Thrifted, $10 ($5.00 per wear), last worn here | Denim Jacket: JCPenney, $19 ($0.12 per wear), last worn here | Beige Flats: Nordstrom Rack, $40 ($0.95 per wear), last worn here

How stinking cute is this workwear outfit?? I’ve worn it a few times before, including in my blog post inspired by “The Mindy Project”. It’s not very summery but for some reason the combo was really calling me when I walked into my closet this morning. I had to leave work a little early today to head to the DMV and get my new Colorado license—officially a resident now! The photo turned out pretty decent, as far as DMV photos go. Afterwards, I went to my boyfriend’s place to grab dinner and watch more of our show.

Button Down Blouse: JCPenney, $7 ($0.70 per wear), last worn here | Purple Patterned Dress: Gift, $30 ($1.76 per wear), last worn here | Black Lace-Up Flats: Nordstrom Rack, $40 ($1.29 per wear), last worn here | Black Bow Belt: Charming Charlie, $10 ($0.71 per wear), last worn here

This outfit doesn’t stand out much in today’s photo, but I really liked the pastel yellow top with the houndstooth pants—it’s a combination I haven’t tried before. I added my blue suede flats for a fun pop of color! After work, I just headed straight home to cross off a few items from my long to-do list (but I’ll admit I watched a few episodes of “The Good Place” in between tasks).

Yellow Ruffle Blouse: Kohl’s, $20 ($2.00 per wear), last worn here | Black and White Houndstooth Pants: JCPenney, $19 ($1.19 per wear), last worn here | Blue Flats: DSW, $5 ($0.24 per wear), last worn here

After a slow day at work, I took some blog photos on the way home and then had a productive evening knocking items off my to-do list. It was the first Friday in a while that I didn’t have any social plans, and honestly it was really nice to spend a quiet night with myself. Again, how cute are these fuzzy sneakers?!

Pinstripe Top: JCPenney, $20 ($1.25 per wear), last worn here | Cropped Flared Jeans: Express, $25 ($1.67 per wear), last worn here | Grey Fluffy Sneakers: Thrifted, $20 ($20 per wear) | Striped Sunglasses: Charming Charlie, $10 ($0.56 per wear), last worn here | Mint Purse: Kate Spade New York, gift

I was supposed to go to a play put on by incarcerated individuals at the Stirling Correctional Facility today, but unfortunately they had to cancel the program last-minute—very disappointing. So instead, my boyfriend and I had a fun date day where he showed me around the town he grew up and the college he attended. It was such a great way to get to know each other better and add some context to all his stories. I felt very cute in my black crop top, but I did end up with quite the sunburn on my chest…

Black Crop Top: H&M, $15 ($7.50 per wear) | Denim Shorts: Target, $18 ($1.20 per wear), last worn here | White Espadrilles: DSW, $45 ($0.85 per wear), last worn here

. . . . .

Sunday, July 31

The boy and I finally finished watching our show today, and then we spent the afternoon lounging by his apartment’s pool. I needed a few blog photos for a collaboration, which he helped me with… but I think he’ll be a little hesitant to offer his help next time—I turn into a bit of a gremlin when taking photos, lol. Isn’t the blue and white wrap-style swimsuit cute though? My aunt recently bought it and handed it off to me when it didn’t fit her quite right. I’m super disappointed though because I washed it before wearing it and the top is already pilling! What the hell… I wonder if it got caught in the washing machine or something.

. . . . .

Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? I hope you had a great weekend, and as always, thanks for stopping by the blog today.

Miles of smiles,

Grace

    1. Thanks for the feedback Mireille!! The lighting/background seems a little better against the wall, but it’s such a pain to set up my tripod every day instead of just taking a selfie in the mirror.
