Survived another work week! Isn’t this view from my office building parking garage amazing? I’m still struggling a bit to get into a routine—by the time I get home from work, I’m so tired and lazy that I don’t have the motivation to do anything productive. I did really like this week’s business casual outfits, though, and I threw in a few fun outfits on the weekend. It’s funny to think that some of my wardrobe is now very strictly weekend attire. In college, I’d always wear a mix of professional wear and fun stuff depending on the day, but that just won’t fly now that I’m a working woman.

Monday, July 4

I spent the day at the pool with my aunt and her family, and then we played croquet in the backyard. Of course, no Fourth of July would be complete without burgers and a firework show, which we could view from our neighborhood. It was such a good display!

I went to work, unpacked in my apartment for a bit, played badminton with the family, and then duked it out in a round of Mario Party. I’ve been all about the easy work dresses lately since my clothes and shoes are still scattered about.

You know the drill: work, dinner, and Mario Party. My cousin, aunt, and I have been having so much fun playing the video game every night. I’ve always loved this brown dress (another simple one-piece), but my boyfriend said it looks like an old lady dress… and I don’t know how I feel about that. But hey, it has pockets!

Work was really fun today because a coworker and I grabbed chai lattes together in the midafternoon. The boyfriend and I were supposed to go mini golfing afterwards, but the rain had other plans for us… so we just grabbed takeout and watched a show instead. Even though I got home later than I had wanted, my cousin talked me into Mario Party, so it was a bit of a late night for a Thursday! I really loved today’s outfit, though. The top and skirt were a little plain together by themselves, but once I added the textured shoes, statement necklace, and cuff, I really loved how it all came together!

White Top: Old school uniform, $22 ($1.16 per wear), last worn here | Blue Skirt: Francesca’s, $10 ($1.43 per wear), last worn here | Textured Flats: JCrew, $20 ($1.82 per wear), last worn here

Okay, now this outfit is old-ladyish and I accept that. I had meant to swing by my apartment last night to grab an outfit for work, but it totally slipped my mind, since I ended up staying out late. This blue dress was the only somewhat suitable clothing item I had at my aunt’s house. It was a little dressy for work, so I added this cardigan—which didn’t look cute with the dress tied or untied. It’s very long, and I definitely would’ve needed a cropped white cardigan to pull off this look. Ah well, you can’t win ‘em all.

Today at work I had my first client meeting, which was really exciting. Afterwards, we had a chill night at home, ordering delivery and playing more Mario Party.

I unpacked at my apartment some more today, squeezed in a game of Mario Party, and then headed to my boyfriend’s place for date night. We saw The Black Phone in theaters, ate pho for dinner, and then watched Pulp Fiction, which I had never seen before. What a strange movie!

I’ve only had this top and skirt for one or two seasons, so I haven’t worn either very much yet. I love how the two look together for a young, summery vibe.

I wore the same skirt as yesterday with this blue and white bodysuit to brunch with a few girls. I felt really cute when I was wearing it, but I’m not sure about it now that I see it photographed… I don’t know, this bodysuit always kind of weirds me out because it’s so thin and feels really low-cut. The family and I went out to dinner tonight and then swung by my grandma’s place to hang for a bit.

Blue and White Bodysuit: H&M, $10 ($3.33 per wear), last worn here | Denim Skirt: American Eagle, $24 ($8.00 per wear), last worn here | White Espadrilles: DSW, $45 ($0.94 per wear), last worn here

. . . . .

Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below! It’s been hot hot hot here in Denver the last few days, but it’s always freezing in my office building—kind of a funny balance because I often forget to bring a sweater to work.

Miles of smiles,

Grace

  1. I like how you added the bralette to the bodysuit: I remember you featuring it and I think I like it better this way. I have had some hits and misses with my outfits and I usually can tell when I can’t get a picture that I like. Dresses are so nice for a one and done look and always look professional!

    1. I agree Mireille, it’s much better with a bralette! Way too lowcut/revealing without one.

  2. It sounds like your days and nights are filled with lots of living, my friend! I like all of your work outfits, but my favorites are definitely your weekend denim skirt outfits. Both tops look so cute on you! And I don’t think anything you are wearing looks old lady-ish either!
